We have just returned from a week's holiday at the Hotel Park. We are so glad we chose this particular hotel as the location was perfect. It was facing the marina with views across to the town of Rovinj and St. Katarina island with woodland at the sides and back of the hotel. We had a side sea view so we faced onto the woodland and also the marina. The dining room was boutique style, very elegant. The front and one side had patio doors so whilst eating our evening meal we had the benefit of the same wonderful views. Eating breakfast on the decking, again with these lovely views, was a pleasurable experience. The food was very good; breakfast - cold selection of salami, cheese and salads; scrambled, boiled and fried eggs, German sausage, bacon, cakes, apricots, prunes, pineapple, yoghurts and fresh fruit. The drinks machine had a choice of cappuccino coffee, tea, hot chocolate etc. The evening meal had a cold selection, pasta, risotto, pizza, chicken, pork, beef, fish, plus cakes, ice cream etc. The bedrooms were small but the beds and pillows were very comfortable and there was a hairdryer in the bathroom plus a minibar that had some space for our own drinks. The satellite tv had very few English channels which is usually the case when abroad. We could hire pool towels with a returnable deposit. It was about a ten, fifteen minute leisurely walk along the promenade to the town with its cobbled streets and cafe bars. The church of St. Euphemia was really interesting. We paid 10 kuna each (about #1.50) to climb up to the top of the bell tower (the climb down was quite daunting but worth it for the lovely panoramic views of the town and our hotel.) A number of people were selling boat trips and we went on a four hour trip along the Lim fjord which was quite near Rovinj. It was a really relaxing afternoon sailing on the Delfin boat which you could get on near the hotel or by walking into town. It was a peaceful holiday with no loud music coming from the hotel or the bars in town. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Rovinj and at the Hotel Park which we would highly recommend.

Once again my wife and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Park Hotel in Rovinj where we were warmly greeted by the staff. The accommodation was excellent and the food had something for everyone. Rovinj is a very picturesque town with cobbled lanes and cafes were you can sit and see the world go by. Whilst there we visited Pula with its maginificent arena and Porec which is also very picturesque. We will certainly return.

Returned for 2nd year. Arrived May 2009....temp 28-30 degrees! Hotel spotless...get seaview...or you get the car park! Worth paying extra! Food lovely. Downfall? Saga now go there, not a problem, but they have their own tables and on our last night the other end of this restaurant was closed off due to German party arriving!!! We could not find a table...and restaurant manager was not helpful and moved me from my table as the Germans were arriving! Chambermaids were brilliant...always a clean room. Mini fridge very expensive...Do not buy British papers.....7 times the cost here!!! Last year, the hotel provided on the bar British papers to read, but only German papers this year! Last year, they too had a HAPPY HOUR...but not this year. There was also a wedding taking place on the terrace below my balcony....the whole thing! excellent to watch, but restricted hoteliers doing what they wanted to do. Do visit, its lovely there, but there is NO ENTERTAINMENT.....so if you go, take books etc...and if you do eat on your balcony, remember, SEAGULLS LOVE YOU-and will tap on your window!!! Happy Holidays....x ps ---do go to Venice...book with the hotel, book the gondola trip, its 10 euros, but not the meal at 26 euros...you can eat for much less in the cafes etc... ONE MORE THING.....my hubby smokes GOLDEN VIRGINIA...could not get it on flight out, could not get it in Croatia, and could not get it on flight back either! also, they had no BLACK COFFEE and they were ru8nning out of tea! some people did not even get their meals they had paid for! so not entirely impresses here!

Thank you Thomson for a first class holiday, we were looked after from start to finish. Your rep at the Hotel Park Tatiana was a pleasure to meet, and works hard to make sure your holiday goes smoothly, she is a CREDIT to your company. If you like to explore the country you are in the trips on offer are well worth doing. The Hotel Park is in a lovely position with wonderful views over the old town. You wont be disappointed if you make this your choice while in Croatia. The hotel staff make you feel so welcome, and are always friendly to you. Well done Thomson. Alan and Julie Ferri

We went to Rovinj at the end of the season and although the weather was mostly warm it was not hot enough for any serious sunbathing. Our room at the Hotel Park was wonderful, with sea views over the marina. It was spotlessly clean and although there were only two of us we had 2 bedrooms a bathroom and a separate toilet. The main downside was the church bells ringing at 7am every morning. As I am a light sleeper, I found myself waking up before them every morning, before they woke me! The food at the hotel was plentiful and on the whole tasty if a little monotonous by the end of the week, but the staff in the dining room were really friendly and the wine with dinner was very reasonable. We did not go on any organised trips as they all seemed to leave very early and we had gone away for a rest. The town itself is absolutely lovely. The walk to the town and to the park was a delight, as was the stunning scenery. There were frequent boat trips to the small islands, but from what we could see, not much in the way of public transport to anywhere of interest in Istria. We really enjoyed our holiday there, although we have no plans to return as there wasn't enough to do at this time of the year. The restaurants in Rovinj all seemed to be serving the same menu and to get a light lunch anywhere was a problem. Overall the facilities at the hotel were well worth 4 stars and the setting could not have been more lovely, but do get a room with a sea view.
