great hotel and staff, could not fault anything really, had a great time, explored some hills and mountains, and around the coast in both directions, benidorm itself, the majority of it,is very nice at this time of year, did not like the clubland area much, and would not wish to be there in the main summer months, but on the whole,i do quite like going there, and find it welcoming and friendly,-plenty of room for everyone in the winter months and the weather is far far better than we get in england,-and that is why we all like to go away at this time of year-for the sun!
We visited this hotel through Thomson as we got an excellent value for money deal on line on the late deals.
On arrival in Alicante Curt the tour rep was on hand to assist us to our hotel and give information along the way.
At the Poseidon Palace hotel the check in was smooth and soon after arrival we received a call from Sarah the Thomson hotel rep.
At the meeting the following day she gave an excellent talk about things to do and places where to go with no hard sell.
The hotel is excellent value and staff are very friendly and willing to assist. Food at meal times are buffet style and reasonable quality for amount of guests catered for.
At this hotel I would recommend asking for a higher floor room as the view over Benidorm are great the higher up you are.
The service from the Thomson rep was excellent throughout and it was bad news to hear she was moving to Bulgaria as she catered so well for guests at this resort.
Whilst in Benidorm I would recommend getting the train from the railway station to Denia, Calpi and Albir/Altea all are under 7 euros return and well worth a trip out as you see the Spanish area and breath taking views.. Alternatively get the local bus to Gaudalest in the mountain as it is very beautiful but remember there is only one bus there and one bus back, again the fare is very cheap.
If you are just wanting to sit have a mug of coffee for 2 euro and watch the world go by go to Refuel on the Poniete beach side or at the far end of Levante beach the Lazy Cow has mug of coffee,Baileys/Brandy with a muffin for 2.95 euro excellent value
