I have just come back from the kouros bay and it was wonderful. The hotel is cleaned throughout the day and the rooms were cleaned daily also. The sheets were made into shapes everyday! The rooms were comfortable and the air con was a godsend which was free. The balconies are a good size with chairs and a table which overlook either the road, pool or gardens around the hotel. There aren't fridges in the rooms, but were available to hire, although you may have to wait a couple of days to get one and cost 2.50 euros per day. Safes are availabe to hire also in the reception area which cost 1 euro per day. Breakfast was continental with rolls, bread, croissants, etc, although they did have scrambled and boiled eggs and mini frankfurters every day, and some days poached eggs too. The hotel has a restaurant for lunch and dinner, and although the food was good, it wasn't very good value for money. You're better off eating in the town. The hotel is right on the beach and there are sunbeds and brollies which cost 5 euros for 2 sunbeds and a brollie, and if 1 passenger travelling it costs 2.50 euros. The beach is shingly, but the water was lovely and clear. The hotel is around 20 minutes walk to the resort centre but if you can't face the walk, taxis cost 3 euros. The town is a fishing village with bars and restaurants on the front overlooking the port. The resort has some lovely shops, mainly tourist stuff and mini markets plentiful. The nightlife is low key, no discos, but a few bars which have music, but not banging! The port area also has a childrens playground. There are lots of restaurants on the front serving everything from meat, fish, pizza, pasts and greek food. There are also little tavernas up side streets which you can miss quite easily. One of the best ones is the aphrodite. A good fish restaurant, can't remember the name, go down to the port, turn right and walk past the bars and is right at the end on the left right on the harbour front, it's exellent. The food is very reasonable in pythagorion, 2 courses with a glass of wine and water will cost around #10 per person. If you are a single traveller, like i was, this hotel and resort is perfect. I never once felt unsafe and everyone was really friendly. The resort is close to the airport, so expect aircrast noise, but none during the night. If you want to see the island, there are many beaches and mountain villages to explore, so car hire is a must! Very enjoyable stay and would definately go backa
