just come back from 2 weeks at the mariners what a lovely place so friendly and helpful. quiet place but we did go middle may. the staff were lovely were gonna miss alfonso and his smiley face in our coffes. Amanda the childrens entertainer was lovely always there with a smile and trying to get everyone involved,. can not fault the mariners it was just what we needed. we will be back im sure of it. xx
I can not fault the staff at the mariners club they where all superb. friendly and keen to please. They all especially made my 3 year old daughter love her holiday. I can not say the same for the Thompson reps, the one in the hotel gave wrong directions to the nearest supermarket (eroski) she clearly had not followed her directions as she would of known they were wrong. Her general knowledge of the area was not up to scratch. I booked excursions through the Thompson rep to the pirate show and the marine land and both times it was badly organised and we missed out on photo opportunity with the pirates because of the reps incompetence. I would not book excursions with Thompson again. The resort is lovely especially if you like to embrace local culture sampling the old town market is a delight and we regularly ate out in traditional Spanish restaurants enjoying wonderful tapas and paella (the mariners staff were happy to recommend where was best to go) When we did eat at the mariners club hotel it was lovely food served well. The port is beautiful but the beach on the main strip is better sand for children to play in. I would recommend to go to both beaches to see which one you like best for personal choice. Overall the mariners club is basic not 5* but worth every penny you pay for it just for the staff.
hotel was basic a bit out the way too much greenery far too many mosquitoes got bit loads
Apartments (one bed and studio) on two floors in a horse-shoe shape around a pool and grassy area with children's slides. Spacious balconies overlook this area. Great for families. Fairly quiet in October and that suited us (I'm 87yrs). Helpful Reception. Good kitchen facilities for self-catering and big Eroski and Lidl supermarkets on the main road about 15 mins away at the end of a lo-ooong side road. The main road is also where one gets buses for nearby towns and Palma. We did not use the restaurant or the daily entertainment but would think they were good. We would recommend this venue to those who don't mind the walk to the main road.
This was a great location accommodation basic but with great food being served and prices reasonable what more could you want
