Read many mixed reviews but our experience wasn't great. Unfortunatley we had to go at this time of year (Aug) found it very busy, if you wanted to have a sunbed by the pool you had to get up at 6am for the main pool 7am for the other, we were told by other holiday makers towards the end of our stay that people were actually putting towels on sunbeds the night before!! We therefore spent most of the holiday on the beach at a cost of 13 euros each day for 2 sunbeds and a brolly, our 6 yr old shared our beds!! My daughter loves the kids club, so signed her up at the welcome meeting, went to take her the first day to find she couldn't go because the 24 places had already been filled (so lots of tears)!! After that each day we would have to que from 4pm to pre sign at 4.30 for the next day. One day my husband was 6th in the que but when he put my daughters name down she was number 16!!! We found that as we weren't getting to see/join in with the games throught the day the entertainers didn't get to know our names or our daughters, so when it came to the family zone entertainment in the evening my daughter never got picked to go on stage, it seemed to be all the kids they new we had to keep explaining to our daughter that it wasn't her fault.

The food was very similar every night, always soup, chips salads then a variation of meats! fish. The childrens selection was very poor. Managed to book the chinese for 1 night, that was ok. The rooms were small but ok, cleaned ish every day. The air con was usless very old very loud so you couldn't leave on at night. Every day between 11 4 there was a disgusting smell in the corridors, smelt of raw sewage. The surfaces all over were marble or tile so very slippery when wet, some people had very nasty injuries while we were staying. Two lifts in the hotel, so if you wanted to go to the restaurant (8th flr) for your evening meal from the 2nd flr you had to walk up six flrs, because the lift would either not stop or be full, we were ok walking but felt sorry for the people with buggies.

Alot of residents had no respect for others when returning from the irish bar at 3 4 in the morning singing shouting. The older kids left to run wild didn't care that there were younger kids about, running charging past people jumping in the pools getting drunk!!! Some people return year after year, but sorry definatley not our cup of tea. Thomson let us down this time, could write more but no space!!!!

" Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry that you were not happy with the food quality in the restaurant. It's natural that some customers have different tastes to others however we were very surprised at your feedback as the food quality and service at the San Miguel is rated consistently well by customers. We are sorry to hear the hotel appears not to meet our usual high standards in other aspects and we will pass these comments back to our supplier to make sure these issues have been rectified. We strive to provide the best possible service with regards to all aspects of your holiday and our childcare team operate a rota system to ensure all children have the same opportunity to join in activities. Our san miguel hotel holiday was the best family holiday we had, i would have went back next year if thomson werent pulling out. Thier kids entertainers were amazing most of all louise and lee they were awesome with the kids and just lovely people also they are very good at their jobs. We went on a pirate trip which was fab until we had to leave the boat for an hour and a half and me my hubby and 2 kids were so bored at that part of the trip. As for the hotel the food was lush i enjoyed every meal, and the beach was lush with its clear waters. If anyone is wanting a holiday this year go to san miguel hotel and enjoy fun thomson entertainment every night.

Returned to Hotel San Miguel for the third time with my husband and 10 year old daughter ( the last time being 7 years ago) knowing that we would have a great holiday and be entertained from morning til night. The food is what you would expect at a three star hotel but there is always plenty of variety. You would be very fussy if you can't find anything you like to eat. The rooms are cleaned or tidied every day by the efficient cleaners. But the real draw for this hotel is the entertainment. All the staff work tirelessly to make sure you have a great holiday and you can join in as little or a much as you like. Special mentions must go to Zorro and his team Ollie, Robbie and Eva and to the Lovely Louise and Loopy Lee who are on the go morning til night to make sure you have a great holiday. Anyone who moans about the entertainment or the staff providing it really needs to get a life!! Every night was great but do not miss Boogie Nights it is a fantastic night. Must also mention holiday advisor Jess who is very helpful and always smiling. My 10 year old made a great group of friends and loved joining in the activities available when she could drag herself away from the pool! She won a T shirt and the staff were only too happy to sign it for her on the last night which really made her holiday and now takes pride of place in her bedroom. I would recommend this holiday to families who want a fun packed holiday you will not be disappointed!

first of all I am a 45 year old father, married and one ,very active 8 year old child. had never been fully inlusive before, and had read a few reviews here. and first of all, i agree dont pay any attention to the bad ones. my thoughts . LOCATION, perfect if you want to chill and have been there, seen it and done it,you can explore, but the beauty is its quiet. FOOD, I am fussy, and despite some of the reviews the food is fine, bread, fresh lots of choice, the Chinese OK, worth one visit, thats all. one good thing is that the manager runs a tight ship, no swimming trunks or bikinis, ( I dont much like eating my soup, with some 50 year old in their g string) HOLIDAYMAKERS, good mix, Germans ( when did we catch their towl disese though ! ) Russians, nice to see them getting some sun, and even Spanish, HOTEL, clean, rooms ok for a 3 star, only critisism if you have a problem with stairs then go for the beach club, they could have done with 2 more lifts in the main hotel. LOCATION, I am a bloke and most of the guys I spoke to were quite happy the wife couldnt shop , ( go to the hippy market) lovely beach, we swam every day excellent tip to sneek bread out of the resaurant and feed the fish, kids loved that. sea is great, yes we saw the jelly fish flag once, but hey thats nature for you. good snorkeling ENTERTAINMENT, best of all in my veiw, if you didnt want take part you could hide away without getting pestered, my best tip, if you have sprogs, get them to the family clubs the Tompsom team are great, our little girl was alway "champing at the bit to go " and me and the wife would go up to the top restaurant for a very nice two hour lunch and watch the large boats float into the bay... perfect nightime entretainment also decent ( I was there during the world cup though) and Lee if anything happens to Graham Norton get in there, some good adult humur. OVERALL, I can see why people go back, and have to confess think we will also return, without a doubt go fully inclusive, its the perfect " no brainer" holiday, just what this stressed out exec wants
