This Hotel was superb in every way, and ideally situated for all aspects of the Salou Resort. We were a little apprehensive at first, as this was our first visit to both this resort and hotel, but as it turned out, everything was perfect for us. If anyone went hungry at this hotel, then it was entirely their own fault, as the choice and presentation of the food was on a par with any of the cruise holidays that we have been on in the past, and was all cooked to perfection. The room that we were allocated was ideally located with a nice balcony overlooking the swimming pool area. Plus there were tea & coffee making facilities in the room, plus a nice little fridge. And the room was spotlessly clean, tidy & quiet. The entertainment at the hotel was brilliant, and the animacion team were excellent with both young and old alike. Plus there were great bar staff who could not do enough for you, so all was great in that aspect as well. An added bonus was that if you needed to get away from the hotel during the day or night, it was only a very short walk around the corner to a fantastic British bar and restaurant where everyone was made to feel most welcome, and I would recommend that you pay a visit or two to the Funky Monkey, A lovely friendly atmosphere, and probably the best British breakfast in the area. Plus Bingo for good cash prizes and a brilliant quiz that caters for all ages. So make yourselves known to Allison and Andy the owners, a fantastic couple who are full of fun. Also, it is just a short walk around that same corner to where you catch the buses to the other resort areas like Cambrils, Tarragona and Port Aventura etc.etc. and the local bus service is superb. All in all, good value for money, and we would definitely go back to this particular Hotel.
Good hotel and staff, food good when not cold or luke warm. (not very often) Not a true 4 star but good 3 star, stayed in better. The big downer for me was its not really a hotel for british, not the staff or the hotel; the people who are in it. Our european brothers and sisters including ex iron curtain countries at this hotel are the most arogant ill manered and ignorant people I have come across in ten years of going to spain.. be warned.
Stayed for 1 week at Golden Port Salou and Spa from 9/9/08,overall excellent. 2 excursions (1)Aquapolis waterpark in Pineda,expensive and been to better.(2) Barcelona & Fountains superb,visited Nou Camp stadium and then onto spare time in Barca and finished off with dancing fountain show in front of Kings Palace,magnificent day out. If staying at this hotel ask for a room on the inside i.e. pool view which we had keeps you away from road on other side. Theme nights in dining room,food to suit all tastes,entertainment is very good although stage could be bigger,say hi to ISRAEL (LEAD ENTERTAINER) for us,very accomplished at what he organises. We heard avoid July & August as too busy. 9.75 out of 10 for us.
The hotel was really nice. very posh n lives up to the 4 star rating. It has 2 large outside pools a small pool 4 children n a indoor pool aswel which i was suprised at the amount there was. Also ther was 3 jacuzzis bt the only bad thing was that u wasnt aloud lilo's or rings in the pool, no one was happy about that. Bar staff vary, one is really pervy n doesnt hold back in sayin things to you he liked the thought ov a 17 yr old (me) so i walked off. But there was one really friendly n down to earth waiter he was call angel speaks, very good english aswell. We found a pub called funky monkey round the corner from the hotel, we went bk every night, they were very very friendly, made u feel very welcome, gonna miss tht place! Overall was one ov the best places i have stayed in :) x
what a fantastic hotel we would definately recommend this hotel to any one the food and the comfty rooms were great our 11 year old son loved it would definately go back.
