we arrived quite late at tha babadan and were hungry after our flight but the staff made us toasties and drinks and chatted to us making us feel welcome straight away. All the staff were extremely lovely, nothing was too much trouble, by th time we left it was like we'd known them for ever. The food was particularly good from the english omelettes to the traditional turkish meals. Having 2 pools was a bonus and the pool bar was handy and a welcome relief from the sun! The Turkish restaurant across the road is worth a visit as is the hairdresser/barbers where my husband had the best turkish shaves. We booked excursions with Oscar just down the road from the hotel he was great and the trips well organised. For great entertainment you can't the Romance bar the boys in there are the best and put on amazing entertainment for the whole family. There is no doubt that we will be back as soon as funds allow.
This is a small complex of about 65 Appartments. the staff are very smart, always in uniform so that they are instantly recognised as staff. Everyone is so very friendly and helpful, and give the impression that they really enjoy working there. Babadan Appartments is located on the fringe of a busy. and lively town centre, far enough out to be quiet and peaceful if that's what you want, but close enough to the action and miriad of shops and stalls to keep anyone satisfied.
A short walk to the beach, and the water taxi into Marmaris for even more shops and clubs.
Arrived at four a.m. our room had been reassigned the previous day and the desk clerk had not been informed. After much searching and chasing around he found on the computer the error. The only room available was on the ground floor behind the kitchen with no view and when we stayed last year was used for people to use for changing prior to return to England. We refused this and ended up in a Studio room with a shower and toilet room off. Very small and with only one armchair. We did not unpack but contacted The Thomson hot line in England to sort it out. That morning I met various people who were also there last year and one of the said he was leaving that day. I went to reception and saw Phylis who said you phoned head office! Of course I replied. You left us without suitable apartment at 4am what would you do? Any way she said I made a mistake but offered no apology at all! I then informed her that a suitable room was available within the parameters of what we had paid for and she replied, it will be available after noon. And I will not charge you ten pounds for moving rooms. We moved in after noon and she came up with your rep, with whom we had written a complaint and Phylis informed us that if we wished to stay until 6pm on the last day it would cost us fifteen pounds. I totally refused to pay this and said we have already lost our first day and not even had an apology. She gave in and said it would be free. This Phylis is permanently miserable and frequently allocates elderly and or infirm clients to a top floor knowing full well they will want to move and then applies the ten pound charge. This is a scam, which does Thomson no justice for all their good efforts in making Holiday run smoothly. This occurred several times during our stay and even split a wedding party up as the bride to be and her unwell father moved out and found their own accommodation. Another older man with two walking sticks was two floors up a spiral staircase, we helped him up one day from the ground and it took ten minutes. This really is not good enough, and as many, but not all clients are in their seventies or more particularly at the time when children should be in school should be looked at by Thomson.
My sister and I stayed may 13th for a week. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was lovely.But I do think Thompson should state they are on the top floor! I had read reports that the bedrooms had the slopping Roofs so you would bump your head but that did not bother us. Only down fall was the bath room which could do with a revamp it was a large wetroom and they could really make it nice. Loo brush did need changing think it had been there years!!! We used the pool 2 which was nice a quiet. Staff were all frendly. The resort is much nicer than I exoected and right on your doorstep, lovely little nail/hairdressers just opposiet i would recomend very frendly. Loads of silver jewllery shops which I personally loved!! Loads of resurants. overall I really liked the Babadan and would certainly go back.
