Lovely hotel only separated from the beach by a narrow promenade. all Thomson rooms have a seaview with a balcony in full sun until early afternoon, then still pleasant to sit out until late evening. It was my birthday while we were there, I got a bottle of champagne from the hotel on the day, a lovely touch. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food was very tasty and the buffet was constantly replenished, Pepe (one of the waiters) was particularly helpful.
The rooms were cleaned and towels changed every day. The only thing missing was tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Mini fridges are available for hire for 1 euro a day, you can also have free beach towels and change them as often as you like.
This is a family/couples resort. Watch out for the cyclists, 'rickshaws' and very zippy electric scooters (not ones grannies use!) on the red lane of the promenade, otherwise this is a pedestrian area. We were happy to be very lazy and stayed in the resort but there are plenty of boat trips to the other resorts on this coast and various excursions available if you want them. The area is flat so walking is easy and there are lots of sea front bars cafes and restaurants where you can sit and watch the world go by. Do try to visit Stanley's (very close to the Alicia) for an afternoon tea if you're missing your British cuppa, lovely cakes as well.
There are lots of early morning/late evening joggers and power walkers if that's your choice.
We would definitely join the growing band of people who return to the Alicia and Cala Bona.
