Just got back from Kalamiki after a 2 week holiday, had a wonderful time although the first weeks weather was very unsettled. We stayed at the Lourous Beach Hotel and was not disappointed with it, the room was lovely and the grounds were lovely. It was kept in immaculate condition, so clean and tidy everywhere. The pool area was lovely, as was the pool bar, and the staff where absolutely brilliant. Rita at reception was lovely, so helpful and always smiling, just what you need when on holiday. It was about a ten minute walk to the beach, if that and we found a few good restaurants to, especially the one called Paolo's, the food was really good and reasonable and the staff there were so friendly we were made to feel so welcome. We also found a sports bar, so hubby could watch a few footie games, and what a friendly young guy working behind the bar, and his father who owned it, always welcomed us warmly, it made our holiday all the more special meeting such lovely people. We had been to Kalamiki several years on the trot, but hadn't been back for about 7 years, so thought we would give it a go this year, and I can honestly say it was the best holiday we had in a while. I am so glad we returned and probably will for the next few years, thankyou Thomsons for another great holiday and a wonderful hotel.

Louros Beach Hotel is in an excellent location just a minutes walk from the stunning beach and a five min walk to the resort centre. The taverna on the beach is absolutely superb and serves up some of the best food in the resort with a view to die for looking out over Lagana bay.In the resort itself there is lots of choices of tavernas and we didnt experience any bad meals at all the only one we were disappointed with was the Olive tree but the food was still ok. We found for best authentic greek food go to Michaelos and if you love steak its best to go for the Chateau Briand particulary at Paulos. Over top meals we had were at Diaz and not to forget the Italian in the centre of the resort. Food and drink was reasonably cheap with a 500ml bottle of beer for 2 euros and wine from 5 - 10 euros and an average family of four meal costing in total round about 50 euros(starters/mains/beer/wine & kids drinks).

just come back after our 2 week stay it was the third time in 5ys and was just as great as the first time the staff are so friendly and the beach is at the end of the road amazing.

All i can say is we would definately go back. Everything about this hotel is excellent.........apart from the shower which can have a bit of temperature fluctuation !! If you are looking for a quiet, small,friendly,clean and well equipped hotel you wont beat here. The breakfasts are also very good,not just your usual toast.

We stayed at Louros hotel for 10 nights b&b, the 2-bed rooms are small but adequate, the pool area and gardens are very lovely. The dining area next to the bar area could do with clean cloths on the tables, bar snacks were good. The lock on our room broke and we had to move to a different room for one night, then back again the next day, which was rather inconvenient. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay. We dined out every night, most of the restaurants in Kalamaki are very good. We only had one bad meal which was at the Olive Tree restaurant, their chicken was very dry and inedible, when we complained they only knocked 10% off our bill, so we didn't go there again. The Corner Bar was best for drinks and snacks. Zante is a lovely island well worth a visit.
