The best way to stay at the Rymar is on a full board basis. For what it costs the up grade is sensational value. The senior waiters, Paco and Antonio, make service a delight and a pleasure to watch in action. They make it an art form and are so professional. All the staff like formality and like people who appreciate the finer little touches. The food is fantastic,a gastronomic delight, catering for all tastes and even do a vegetarian option which is rare in Spain. If you are in a hurry to eat don't use the restaurant. Pay a lot more, go into the town. Lunch is the best meal of the day, and a good idea to have a break from the sun. A two hour lunch is good for you and the afternoon sleep more pleasurable, especially after a brandy in the hot tub! The location is perfect for those who want to combine a beach holiday with the luxuries of a four star hotel as the beach is outside the window. To relax, read books, great views, laugh and joke with friends this hotel offers the lot and the staff are very tolerant. Sometimes you have to pinch yourself to realise just where you are staying. The location is fantastic and cannot be bettered anywhere along this coast. A boat taxi leaves the beach regularly and you can view the dramatic coastline in both directions to Lloret and St Felioux. You can take a bus to anywhere from the bus station and hire cars are reasonable. A walk in the town just to browse and window shop is relaxing and a walk up to the castle a must for all visitors to Tossa. The streets are full of little bars that are a must for pre dinner drinks back at the Hotel.A street bar called Pano's is my favourite. The owners look after you and welcome your custom. From the terrace of the hotel there is always some thing to look at on the beach or out at sea. At night I like to watch the big cruise liners make their way across the horizon from the restaurant window whilst having dinner.

Having just returned from Tossa, we are very pleased with our decision to stay at the Reymar. We booked our accommodation only with Thomson and have the following comments: Reception: Our reception on arriving was terrible, very frosty and unhelpful and we found this to be the case throughout our stay. Room: We were in a room at the side of the hotel with partial sea views, but with an extra lounge room with a sofabed. The room itself was clean and pleasant and the bathroom was modern. We also had a small patio-style balcony. This was ideal for us as when our daughter went to bed, we could either sit in the lounge or outside. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels and the cleaning staff were very friendly and thorough. Restaurant: We only ate breakfast at the hotel, of which there was a huge choice, including English and Continental breakfast, and everything from smoked salmon to cava and raw garlic! The restaurant staff were professional although some were quite gloomy. Facilities: We used the small playground and dipped our feet in the (freezing cold) outdoor pool and spa bath but there were many other facilities inc. a nightclub and spa. Location: The location is probably the best in Tossa with most of the other hotels being on back streets in residential areas. From the restaurants you have fabulous views across Mar Menuda beach or towards the Vila Vella. TOSSA: We enjoyed Tossa overall and although the beaches are shingly they are still pleasant, although the water drops to deep levels quickly and there seemed to be a lot of jellyfish. There are some excellent deals at the many restaurants for around 10-15 euros for a 3-course meal with wine. Other than walking round the shops and Vila Vella and going on a boat trip, there isn't much to do and the nightlife is very sedate. We took a bus to Lloret, which was full of take-aways and 'British' themed bars. We also went to Marineland which is actually quite small but a nice day out with free buses from Tossa. If you have young children, they are really made a fuss of in Tossa and are made very welcome in restaurants, so you never feel like a burden! Although I wouldn't go back, I would recommend Tossa for a relaxing week-long holiday.

Very nice hotel. Pool area was very clean with plenty of beds, jacuzzi was a nice addition. Room was spacious with huge bed and decent air con. Shower was very powerful. Best aspect of the hotel is the location - literally a stones throw from the beach. Views from the pool area were lovely. Also plenty of places to sit and have a drink and soak in the scenary. Walk into town was 5 minutes. Wide choice of European breakfast food. Relatively quiet when we went in September. Friendly staff who speak good English.

Excellent hotel located close to Tossa town and the beach, however, there was a steep walk up to the hotel from the road, not for the infirm or elderly.
Hotel staff were very friendly and informative. There were plenty of places to sit and relax in the lounge and bar areas. The bed and bath rooms were a decent size with adequate furnishings and both kept very clean. The pool and facilities were very good but you have to be up early to get a sun bed.
Can't comment on the evening meals as we prefer to eat out but the breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice to suit everyone. There were quite a few families with small children in the hotel yet you hardly noticed or saw the children they all were very well behaved. The hotel in the evenings was very quiet no noise from any of the other guests.
There was a really good mix of guest nationalites within the hotel which gives a nice atmosphere.
I would recommend this hotel to every one.
