brilliant holiday - hotel and pool areas were always clean and tidy. comfortable beds - air con in room. cleaned every other day. location was o.k. could have done with being closer to town but was only 20 min walk 10 mins on bus... or 15 minutes bus to the port. hotel right on the beach and 3 pools, 2 of which were childrens.staff helpful and happy... will definitely consider staying there next year
the alcudia apartments were superb close to beach and bars myself my husband and our two teenage girls loved the hotel and the entertainment with minty who made our holiday.hotel and bar staff were most friendly and our rooms while basic were clean.will be back next year hopefully.
We first stayed at Alcudia Beach Apartments way back in 2002 on our first ever family holiday. Saw an excellent deal last year so returned in 2010 as a bit of a nostalgia trip. Hotel had changed very little so did look "dated" but importantly it didn't look any worse i.e. it hadn't gone "downhill" in the intervening years. Rooms are basic but I would say at the upper-scale of basic. Our room was clean and had everyting we needed for 2 adults and 2 young children. Bed linen was cahnged 3 times during our 10 day stay and cleaning/towel change virtually everyday. I note in other reviews people grumble about the rooms, but if you want 5 star rooms you need to book yourselves into 5 star hotels! Staff are very approachable and work hard. We even got sent up a bottle of sparkling wine as a "thank you" for returning to the hotel after so many years. On paper I should avoid the "legendary" Minty like the plague but in reality he is an extremely nice & freindly chap who my kids adored. Breakfast buffet at the hotel is astounding value - all you can eat for E5.50 adults & E3.00 children. I'd also recommend the evening meals at the hotel as they are competatively priced and were a slightly better standard than the surrounding retaurants. Bar prices are expensive (E2.80 for a pint of Estrella) but pop around the coner to Los Palmitos & it was E1.75 a pint. The hotel is in an excellent location - 5 mins to the beach, close to the "British Section" but not too far away from the Port. Overall we had a fantastic time, despite the changeable weather, and would highly recommend the hotel to anybody looking for a basic but good hotel in Alcudia. IMPORTANT POINT - the day we arrived Lidl opened up a store approximatley 10 mins walk away from the hotel (it's by the "magic roundabout"). We saved a fortune by using Lidl for kids/beach snacks etc, & for the first time ever, actually came home with euros to spare :-)
