Travelled to Ischia 3rd -10th August 2012.Flights & transfers to Ischia were good & well organised. We were met by Mina (Thomsons Rep) who was very helpful & organised transfers etc. She also visits hotel a couple time per week & is always available to phone if you need help.Ferry from Naples to Ischia was one of the highlights as it was a beautiful day & the sailing & scenery was excellent passing by all the other islands in the Bay of Naples etc, on approaching Ischia you see just how beautiful the island is from a distance. Back to the hotel. The hotel is lovely, had no problems at check in/check out. Room was very clean maybe could do with the bathroom being upgraded/renovated but adequate. We had a room with a pool view which has a small balcony which Mini bar/fridge also in room. Plenty of hanging space/drawers for everything we had. Hotel is well laid out & areas around pool, bar etc were kept clean at all times. It is a low rise hotel which was refreshing from all the high rise hotels being built nowadays. We were on half board and that was the only thing that spoiled an otherwise excellent holiday. First night (Friday) there is a buffet which was excellent plenty of choices especially if you like seafood. But sadly after then things went downhill badly. The service at times was non existent & that is being kind. Not once at breakfast were we offered any cooked food(eggs/bacon) saw some going out to tables, it took them 3 days to offer us coffee. Not a real problem as there are stations where you can get coffee/tea. Breakfast self service was typical continental style & adequate. We ate only 3 times in restaurant due to the service & quality of the food. Though we had paid upfront when booking holiday for the week. One time we waited 55 minutes after finishing our starter to being served our main couse & 40 minutes the other time with a 45 minute wait for dessert which was only ice cream.The waiting staff all seem to run around like headless chickens but not actually getting anywhere. The restaurant manager was non existent & certainly there is a need for more organisation to be in force. If you are not on full or half board they charge 40 - 45 euros each for the set menu which is very poor value for money.Your not allowed to take the wine from the restaurant to the bar area after your meal, it's kept for you in restaurant for your next visit. I took my fiancee's wine out to bar area on the 1st night & was made to feel like a naughty child.

A fabulous hotel and staff all great.Food is really excellent,and great choices,waiter service,and excellent service and waiters.Rooms are lovely and in lovely settings.Evening was lovely on the terrace,and the music was great,and lovely to dance to.Service in the bar very slow,had to wait ages for a drink.Found all the Itallian people there lovely and made lots of friends,try to speak a little Itallian and you will be fine.Mina the rep was the best we ever had,she was so bubbly and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her,she is a credit to Thomsons.This was our 4th time to Ischia,and won't be our last,it is a beautiful place,and beautiful people.Just perfect from start to finish.The transfers were great,and they really looked after you,so polite and helpful.Looking forward to another visit.

The warmth and generosity of the people on the Island of Ischia made our holiday a truly memorable experience. Hotel 'Continentel Terme' was well maintained and the service provided exeptional. All staff from main reception to the lady that cleaned our room daily could not have been more responsive. Upon arrival we were unhappy with our designated room as we were not given the facilities as booked. However we were upgraded by the General Manager to a superior double room without any issue. I highly recommend the hotel and the island of Ischia which mainly attracts Italian, German and French visitors. An ideal destination for a complete get away. 10/10 for both the area, hotel and hotel service. We did experience a few issues with our local Thomson Rep who did not communicate to us sufficiantly an itinerie for a trip booked to Serento therefore leaving us to have to rearrange an alternative trip and location. Sorrento trip only goes out once a week on a Wednesday from Ischia. This is worth highlighting in your information. However our visits to Pompie, Capri and Positano were well organised and fabulous. We were not informed on our pick up time 24 hours before departure as advised in our holiday package. We were left to enquire direct to Thomsons local office on the day of departure what was happening and the time we would be picked up. 7/10 for Thomson Rep performance
