Room are clean and large enough especially for just the two of us. Over winter 2012/2013 the original rooms are being refurbished so should be even better. Rooms on the top floor which we stayed in 2 years ago are very nice but the only drawback and we have found this in every room is that the wardrobes are not really deep enough for ladies dresses to be hung neatly. same in other hotels we have used. What suprises me is that Thomsons are not using the Sunrise for 2013 so we are off with Thomas Cook, sorry Thomson but if you don't go we will anyway even if we book directly with the hotel You may find on the days were new guests are arriving that your room may not be serviced early. We used half board but on some days we used the pool area to have mid day meal, not bad prices but I suggest you go out as well. Breakfast and evening meal, especially the salads are faultless. The main meals are slightly limited in variation, meals are all down to personal choice anyway, we have stayed at the Hotel Sunrise 3 times and this time the meals are better. Your not allocated a table so it's a slight lottery if you get to sit where you want, generally you will find an ideal time to go for your meals that will mean you can sit where you want, it's definatley not like the brawl we have had in Disney (sorry Disney ) The only weak part of staying at the Sunrise and this applies to many hotels in Marmaris is the beach, almost none existant sand, it's mainly fine pebbles and entry in the sea can be a bit pebbly, so easy to sort out but it's been like that for 3 years we have been going to the Sunrise. The location of the Sunrise is good as you can walk to the harbour or to Izmeler (spelling?) but only as long as you drink water and plenty of it plus the sunblock. You can use the Dolmas bus but it can be like a packed cattle shed, busy at times. We didn't go on any excursions this time, if you fancy doing the day trip to Rhodes you can book it back home before you travel, the mud baths and visit near the tombs and turtle beach were nice 3 years ago, presume they are still good but shop around price wise and whats included. If you go to the nearby Market on Tuesdays, don't buy on first instinct, look around the stalls but be careful with the prices. The might say 3 for £ 10 or 3 for 30TL (Turkish Lira) check the exchange rates, it maybe cheaper to use sterling, look closely at anything you may buy, I've had good and bad quality there. date was 3rdsept12 not the 1st

Fabulous hotel 2nd visit, went B/B breakfast was excellent, hotel room was brilliant very spacious as was a family room, location ideal as it was at the quieter end of Marmaris, lovely pool with plenty of free sun beds and parasols, staff very helpful, Spa superb and very professional, only downside was kiddies pool and area, pool too small and play area very dirty and full of ants, however this did not spoil our holiday.

This was my 3rd visit to Hotel Sunrise, and it continues to meet my expectations. Staff, cleanliness, location and food were of a very high standard, and the beach location was ideal. Would like to see better quality evening entertainment, as this has always been quite poor in comparison to other hotels Did not take any excursions as this was the 25th year I have been to Turkey, and not much left to see. Can highly recommend the SanDan Restaurant (directly across the road from hotel) where the food is delicious. Service and staff were second to none.

Second time back to The Sunrise hotel and we would definitely stay there again. It's so clean and organised. The breakfast buffet was outstanding with fantastic views from the terrace across the mountains. Added bonus of a spa and it's own turkish bath, not many hotels provide this service. Hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff attentive giving it a great atmosphere. Probably not the best hotel if you've got kids as there's little to do within the hotel with only one pool. There were a lot of couples there though. Great private beach with bar service from your sun lounger. The resort was great - a lovely walk into the centre of Marmaris where you'll find all the bazaars and many restaurants ! We were disappointed with Ichmeler (recommended by rep), it was a fair few degrees hotter there because its deeper into the cove and when we got there is was a bit of a let down. We were expecting a bit of the 'old' Turkey but it was decidedly tacky. Nice walk there though - I'd recommend that if nothing else because its very very different from the other direction (into Marmaris). We didn't stop to eat..just jumped on one of their 30p buses and zoomed back to Marmaris. Dalyan mud baths, tombs and turtle tour is a MUST if you stay here. It's a great day. We were only at the Sunrise for a week and the other trips available had too much of a transfer time so we decided against it. Lots and lots of watersport activities going on in the sea, at good prices too - and we haggled ! Book ahead/early for best prices too.

Sunrise Hotel was really nice and modern. Staff were friendly, rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh bed linen. Its situated on the edge of marmaris but has its own beach with shops and resturants directly across from the hotel. The flight with Thomson was horrific - no in-flight movie for children, in fact no inflight movie whatsoever, no room and the seats were horrible, we could feel the bars through the seats as all the padding had gone. Overall a really nice hotel but i will not be flying with Thomson again!
