Stayed here recently and have mixed feelings about the Asena Village. I thought it was a great location for accesssing both Olu Deniz and Fethiye. The hotel itself although a little tired and in need of decoration is very well laid out.
We did feel though that the hotel is more suitable for younger people and families and met similar middle aged couples who found the pool area too noisy and manic and preferred to gravitate to the garden bar to listen to the chill out music.
The staff on reception were exceptionally helpful and also the bell boy service. However just a mention about the staff in the pool bar and the restaurant. Basically they were immature and too "in your face" and constantly trying to get you to spend more money. We found this quite off putting and found them all to be rather silly.
The man from the Turkish Bath had a better way of getting you to part with your money as he was much more laid back and pleasant about it and so we had the turkish bath which was excellent value for money.
The hotel has a ban on you bringing in food and drink and expect you to use the contents of the mini bar (which incidentally was not particularly cold and kept leaking). This is ridiculous as there was a lot of stuff you could not get within the hotel that was available in the supermarkets in town.
Overall though Hisaronu was an excellent base and the trips available were varied and good value for money and we did not find the Thomson trips particularly expensive and they were very good.
Would we go back? To Hisaronu certainly but probably not to the Asena Village as we would prefer an apartment. However for families with children the amenities are very good here.
