Had a lovely week in this hotel .staff lovely , rooms lovely and well located
Booked this holiday as a last minute and didn't know what to expect, arrived at midnight to be greeted by the bar staff who carried all our cases to our room, whilst inviting us for a drink in the Sports Bar. After having a quick drink we retired to our room and WOW what a nice surprise, the room was spotlessly clean with air con a twin bed room and a double room with double wardrobes dressing table and bathroom. I must comment on the bed decorations which were a great touch, Thank You Aynur !!! . After a great nights sleep it was down for breakfast, the choices were limited to eggs scrambled, fried, poached or boiled with a selection of toasts and a full range of Turkish breakfasts but this suited us as we are not big breakfast people. Then it was off to explore Icemeler for the first time ( having always stayed in Turunc) the town of Icemeler is bustling with restaurants and bars all vying for your business ( sometimes to much ) after a good look around we returned the Devamli for a drink in the Sports Bar, to be greeted by the 3 Barmen Iso, Speedy and Freddie three great guys with loads of character. we then spent the day around the pool and sunbed area, the sunbeds are not around the pool and the sun does not get onto the pool until late afternoon. At night Icemeler comes to life and with a massive choice of restaurants where do you eat, I can recommend Mandalin restaurant in the town centre and the welcome from Nico is excellent, as we have been to Turkey many times we knew what to expect from the bars etc, but it can get a little over powering the way they hassle you to go into bars and restaurants.
One thing I would like to point out is that the price of the drinks in the Sorts Bar at the hotel is higher than other bars in the area and the restaurant is expensive ( but the food is superb ) if the hotel adjusted the drink prices the Sports Bar would be full to the rafters every night.
We came to the Devamli hotel having never stayed in Icemeler before and only booking as a last minute holiday but had a superb holiday and the reason for having such a great time is down to the staff at the Devamli hotel, we will definitely be returning to see people we know consider friends. Thanks to all staff at the Devamli Especially Iso, Speedy, Freddie and Aynur See you soon
27th June 2013 We have just come back after two weeks staying at the above hotel, we booked on a B&B so we could go out every evening to different restaurants & bars, when we arrived they were very friendly we only went in the bar twice as they started to get on our nerves and would not leaves us alone, every evening they expected us to eat in the restaurant and go in the bar but we didn't and they took offence and made us feel very uncomfortable, the hotel is basically in need of repair as the room we had the balcony was falling to bits the patio doors were coming away from the walls, the wardrobe doors kept getting sticking the tv was 20years old, bathroom was very dated and dirty, every morning we had to go to the restaurant for breakfast which was Turkish it was ok to start with but then got boring if u like eggs u will love it, the waiters were not very friendly either, the only pleasant people their were the ones on reception, would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Stayed June 2013, travelled as a couple
Briefly the place is over rated. It is very noisy until the small hours. The swimming pool is nest to the bar and the pavement. The aircon did not work. No facilities for a cup of tea or coffee in the room. The bed base was about ten inches from the floor and right in front of the dressing table and my wife and I both cut our shins on the sharp corners One morning at breakfast I only mentioned to a waiter that there were no table spoons and he just snapped back at me. Then I took ill one morning and my wife asked for some toast and tea to be sent up. She then had to fetch it herself and was asked to return the tray asap as they were short. Icmeler itself it a lovely place and we usually spent our evenings at a restaurant called BAMBOO where the meals were excellent and they had a free cabaret every night. We will go back there again but not to that hotel. I also had to pay £2 a day for the use of a very small safe in the room. Lastly, the male staff were overly familiar with the females guests whether they were married or single.
