This was our third trip to Golden Beach, although our first to the Anastasia. We had a ground floor room with a terrace that opened onto the hotel garden which I was not sure about at first but the area is so safe and there were also metal shutters to put down at night/while you are out. The room looks like it was done up recently and although was small, had everything you could need, including a safe. No shower curtain though so the bathroom became a bit of a wetroom! The hotel has a lovely new bar and terrace area. Golden Beach is gorgeous, white sands, turquoise sea and a picturesque backdrop of the mountains. There are 2 great restaurants in the resort, Playa de Oro was our favourite by far and has very friendly staff who remembered us from our last stay here! Skala Potamia is about a 10-15 minute walk away and although their beach isn't as good, they have some fab places to eat, many of them directly on the seafront. Kramboussa was our favourite. We took the Fun Train (!) from the Marina hotel on 4 village tour and visited Panagia and Potamia up in the hills, as well as Golden Beach and Skala Potamia. We saw Thassos honey being made and their version of Ouzo (tsipouro) which is made in an old lady's garage. It was a great day out as it's a bit of a walk to these villages so we hadn't been there before. Dimitri, our host, held a BBQ on the Friday which was 12 euros each and AMAZING - so much food, and great company - everyone from our hotel went along. Shame we had to leave that Sunday as it was nice getting to know everyone! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back.
