a really good holiday only spoiled by 2 points this hotel is not ready to be included as a platinum hotel untill the issue of the dress code on a evening being adeared to by the hotel .no maitre a de on a evening to show you to your table and to turn away men in t shirts and shorts and some ladies attire being more suitable for round the pool and increase in bar staff in the main bar the waiters are great but only 2 bar staff to serve them some times 6 waiters one has to be very patient
Unfortunately we left a heat wave in wales to land in a wet and cool cyprus. However this did not distract from the the beautiful resort of paphos. The hotel was all we expected of a Louis, the room had recently been refurbished and we had been allocated a room over looking the pool. The food was excellent with a wide choice to suit all, I felt that the hotel catered for the british taste, there was even a Sunday roast. My only issue was theclosing of the pool bar between 5-6, it would have been nice to have another bar to drink at other than the main bar which was located in reception or the function room where the main entertainment was located, again inside. The staff were very friendly , with waiter service at the main bar. The location of the hotel was about a 20 minute stroll from paphos harbour, which was a pleasant walk along the coastal walk taking you pass a number of hotel the route was very popular with runners. The hotel catered for a wide selection of ages, with many people returning year after year. The animation team were ok,they did not hastle you take part in the various activites, all in all very pleasant and restful holiday, and we would certainly return.
Stayed a week at the Louis Ledra beach hotel in Paphos as our original booked hotel was being refurbished and was not finished. The hotel catered for wedding parties and therefore there were a lot of larger parties at the hotel. The hotel was fine for a relaxing pool based holiday although I would rate it as a 3 star hotel rather than a 4 star hotel. We ventured on the bus to Coral Bay beach which was a huge disappointment and so we jumped straight back on the bus and went to the Tomb of the Kings which was a much better place to visit. The walk along the promenade form the hotel to the centre of Paphos was lovely and was only about 25mins walk with children.
We've just come back from spending 11 days, at louis. I can honestly say that everything is amazing, the hotel is clean, well set out, the staff are friendly, helpful, the etertainment staff are amazing and so funny. We also got married at the hotel, and that side of the holiday was just a dream come true. Everyone is so organised, relaxed, happy to go above and beyond to help, and everyone gets involved (in a good way) to help out and make the whole day so unique to you. The food is varied, so there is always something there for everyone to eat so you will not go hungry. All of the staff made us feel like part of the family and always spoke and had a smile on their faces. The new refit they just had, has made the hotel so modern and bright.
Cyprus itself is very shabby and there are lots of unfinished building projects all around the island. The main attractions (mosaics in Paphos and Kurion) are not very well advertised but well worth visiting. Paphos is very spread out - good walk along the promenade through gardens of hotels and beachfront - very nice. Louis Ledra Beach is still an excellant hotel for location, very professional staff and good food. Our second time there and lived up to all expectations - would have been nice if outdoor pool had been heated in April - it was a bit on the cool side.
