by far the best entertainment starts at 8am every morning yes the sunbed derby .I thought it was certain other nationalities who put towels on sunbeds i was wrong and it has to be seen to be believed.Shame on you brits .On a positive note the location or setting of this hotel is absolutely stunning. The view from the pool area and especially reception through large windows is on a par to the carribean with its white sands and turquise sea.Weather a little hit and miss on our holiday in early june but still came home with a tan.Breakfast was ten out of ten ;very english and even back bacon available some mornings.Dinner eight out of ten; not enough spuds for my liking and a little repetitive at home time i was sick of chips. The general cleanliness of the hotel was excellent but im unsure of its four stars maybe three or three and a half more like it.Staff at the playa really are the most freindly i have encountered anywere in the world and are a credit to the manager hose .The thomson reps and entertainment team also are great and a special mention to dave the hardest working entertainment man ive ever seen anywere. For me the acts them selves ;some were a lot better than others decide for your self and the resident duo reaction although good were on too much.Aside from a few gripes we had a really great holiday;playa camp de mar a lovely place to kick back and relax. Is it worth thomson gold prices;hmmm maybe.Oh one last thing if youre below fourty five best go somewere else but if want a break from kids this is the place for you.Have a wonderful holiday.

Myself my husband and my sister stayed at this hotel. The location is beautiful it is a quiet resort not many bars and just a few shops we went to palma a half day trip to see the cathedral and the market well worth the visit we could have stayed longer we also visited nearby pegera and santa ponca plenty of shops here and bars and restaurants majorca is a beautiful island so much to see and do. The camp de mar hotel is worthy of its 4 star. The staff work extremely hard the manager jose even cooked a paella for my husband the food is fantastic and the restaurant is bright and airy Otunba maitre d is so welcoming. The thomson reps work hard and Dave is very talented as well as being funny. This hotel deserves its Gold Award and Jose is an excellent manager with a very dedicated team of staff supporting him.

We recently spent a week at the Playa Camp De Mar hotel in Majorca, and we had such a wonderful time there. Everyone employed at the hotel, from the hotel manager downwards, Thomsons own staff, the entertainment team and celebrity acts were all excellent and were of the highest standard. The resident group Reaction were very talented. with loads of personality and enthusiasm. These lovely people all made so much difference to the week. Whilst there we became engaged to be married, and the Maitre D in the restaurant made it a very special night for us. He is a very kind man and a true professional in every thing he does. The only drawback was the location of our room and size of our bathroom, which was not perfect, but it was not the fault of the hotel or the company because we booked late and in the full knowledge that the website said limited sea view etc. In any case, you do not spend much time in your room, and this aspect was far outweighed by the other good parts of the holiday. Thank you for a wonderful week, and we will certainly be having another holiday at that hotel.

Our third time at this hotel since May 2007 and we cannot wait until our next visit. The first visit was also our first Thomson Gold holiday and we have never looked back. We are in our early forties and have generally found we are amongst the youngest there but still enjoy it. When everything is taken into consideration, we really cannot fault this hotel. The child-free environment makes for a very relaxing and peaceful holiday which is just what you need to unwind and relax from the stresses of everyday life. The hotel staff are friendly and several remembered us from last time. The hotel manager always greets the guests at his cocktail and farewell parties, which is a nice touch and he usually has something amusing to say. The reps and Gold hosts were all great too. The resident duo, Reaction, are not only a talented couple but are also very friendly and were happy to chat with guests between their sets. We felt very welcome there. The hotel is spotless and it is difficult to fault the food even though one of us is a fussy eater. It is a plus that this hotel is exclusive to the Thomson group in the UK. The views from Reception are stunning, and we also had a fantastic view from our balcony (see photo). Some may find the resort a little too quiet but others will appreciate the beauty and easy pace of Camp de Mar. Of course you can still get out and about and visit other places if you find it too quiet. We have been on numerous trips and have also taken taxis to nearby resorts, which is so convenient with the taxi rank right outside the hotel. It is also possible to take catamaran trips from this resort. We usually treat ourselves to a meal out during the holiday and have always enjoyed La Siesta restaurant which is just along the beach from the hotel and has wonderful views out to sea. A perfect place to enjoy a bottle of wine and an evening meal whilst the sun is setting. The island cafe is a pleasant place to sit and enjoy a drink or snack at lunchtime. As others have commented, yes, there is the usual dash for the sunbeds by a minority of the guests (even the threat of rain did not seem to stop them) and yes, there are guests who pile their plates as high as they can, but you will get that wherever you go - it is not the fault of the hotel! Thanks Thomson for another great holiday at the Playa Camp de Mar!

Camp De Mar is a loverly bay and very quite and was exactly what we wanted. The thing that upset this location was the so called 4 star Grupotel Camp De Mar Thomson Gold hotel. It is only worth a 2 star and is never a 4 star. The meals especially dinner are poor at best. The beds are hard, sheets treadbear, blankets dirty, windows do not shut properly and the smell at night and in the dining room from the drains is terrible. The pool is heated but is too busy and crowded. The hot tub is cold and not heated so is never used. The food in the bar is average at best. Our experience has taught us never to use Thomson again as the brochure does not live up to the actual experience. If you are already booked for here good luck you will need it.
