A family run hotel, you certainly know that you will be receiving a very good standard of service. The hotel is spotless throughout boasts very spacious bedrooms that are well decorated. The restaurant is buffet style, offers a good selection of well cooked food. Outside there are well maintained gardens with swimming pool. Across the way is the tennis bar grill with a further pool that is owned by the hotel, this area is very peaceful tranquil with excellent views out to sea. There are plenty of places to explore. The hotels management staff work extremely hard to make your stay enjoyable, what seems to be letting them down is the standard of entertainment that is declining each year, this is something that Thomson need to address very quickly, the whole gold brand needs reviewing, starting with the hosts, can they not think on their own, when gold first started, the hosts had to be able to sing, now thats all gone we have to put up with these childish games before the professional acts come on at 10pm, afterall its an adult only holiday, therefore cater for adults. The evening entertainment actually starts with a resident duo, Vision are on this year, or is it non Vision, they are very good at emptying the hotel, another area that needs to be looked at, they start around 8.30pm for an hour on their first set, they are suppose to get the guests in the mood for the main show, not drive them out to other bars, as to when the main show starts, it takes whoever is on 30 minutes to get the audience warmed up, the main shows are also disappointing on a whole aswell, apart from Graham Powell who is on one night every week, although many guests have seen him many times before, he always gets a full house standing ovation, perhaps the Thomson hierarchy should take a look at one of his performances, then try replicate the same standard of performance on the other nights. Jed Fry, comedian also performs to a very high standard, these two entertainers are always on form. The own production team are good but are not as vocally strong as last years cast. Can Thomson either educate or employ someone that knows how to operate the sound system control the stage lighting, the only time it works without any hiccups is when the production team bring their own sound technician, the excuses why sound light are not working is unbelievable, Thomson perhaps need to be more ruthless revert back to previous quality entertainers, answers on a postcard please.

My partner and I returned home today (12/08/2010) after spending the last two weeks at the Hotel. This is our second visit to the Rocamarina, the last was in 2007, we were delighted to find the Hotel exactly as we remembered it, spotlessly clean, friendly, efficient and polite. We were recognised and then found a complementry bottle of champagne in our room saying lovely to see you again, a nice personal touch we thought. There is entertainment throughout the day by the Thomson team who work very hard to keep you amused but put no pressure on you to take part, this is generally round the pool area though and can get a bit busy. The main entertainment each night is generally excellent with some star performers, this takes place at 10 after the resident musicians, however, if you decide you wish to see the main act then I suggest you get your seat very early after dinner, if you go out of the Hotel first then come back for the main act, you will be lucky to get a seat. The Hotel is situated about about a 100 metres from the beach of es forti, but in my opinion a few hundred metres further up the resort is a far better beach situated between the Hotel Skorpios and Hotel Corfu, this beach is a bit smaller but the water quality is far superior and shallower. Both beaches can get a bit crowded though, we found it beneficial to go to the beach earlier and then head back to the Hotel later in the day where you would generally find available sunbeds. However, if you want to swim in clear warm turquoise water then you need go no further than a few miles up the road to the nature resort of Cala Mondrago, some of the best snorkelling water around, you can get there by local bus or hire a bicycle. The resort of Cala Egos where the Hotel is located has a good mix of local shops selling their wares, plenty of restaurants, bars and supermarkets. A walk of about 3 km round the stunning Marina willl take you into the main resort of Cala D'or, the Marina is home to some truely magnificent Boats ranging in all shapes and sizes with an abundance of restaurants and bars all around. Cala D'or itself is packed full of shops, bars and more restaurants and gets very busy. There are plenty of excursions to go on and this time we done the Tramantana trail, you go way up into the mountains, visit a monastery the port town of Soller and then return on the mountain train through the orange and lemon groves, well worth doing. If you want quality time with your partner then this is the Hotel.

Just got back from a 11 night stay. The hotel is great, fantastic food very clean and the staff could not do any more for you. the resort is small but has everything you need 5 minutes walk from the beach and 6 euros takes you to Cala Dor.I will be returning to this hotel. Now for the down side. The entertainment was not up to much and the duo Vision were poor The best entertainment was watching the race for the sunbeds at 9.00am every morning The beds down at the tennis club were better 10euros 50 cents for 2 beds and a parasol. So if you want a clean friendly and quite holiday i would go for this hotel but get out and about at night.

Having just returned from a lovely, relaxing holiday at this hotel I feel I must give a review. The Hotel Rocamarina is in the lovely resort of Cala Egos, which in itself is in a very pretty area with shops, supermarkets & plenty of restaurants to eat in or just have a drink & watch the world go by. The weather was fantastic, 32deg or more & it is only a 15min.walk from the hotel to the lovely marina of Cala D'or, where millionaires yachts are there for all to see. The Hotel was found to be very clean in all areas, bedrooms & bathroom were of excellent size & having a fridge in the room was a bonus. The meals were varied & were excellent with plenty for everyone. We can recommend the Bread & butter pudding & crumbles that were served for dessert as well as everything else. Waiter service was excellent in all areas. Daytime activities were good & varied & Ben & Jess the resident animation team worked very hard to entertain all ages. The only downside was the evening entertainment. Resident Duo "Vision" leave a lot to be desired, they are regularly out of tune although a nice couple to talk to. The Star Entertainer for us was on a tuesday evening when "Vision" have their day off & Graham Powell entertains. What a singer, anything goes with him, Frank, Elvis, Dean, Matt, Tony Bennet & more all rolled into one. He is fantastic. All in all would definitely return.

Lovely hotel. Quiet location. Staff all very helpful. Food was really good with plenty of choice each night. Thomson Entertainment Team, great as usual. Went to 'Come Fly With Me' - brilliant night ! Would definitely return to this Hotel again in the future.
