Cala D'or resort and the Sol Cala D'or Apartments are very good and we had no complaints about either. However, the service from Thomson was non-existent for our whole holiday with no rep bothering to welcome us or visit the place in all the time we were there. My suggestion would be that if you are considering going to this resort use any tour operator but NOT Thomsons.

" We're sorry to hear the rep service you received was disappointing. We strive to provide the best possible service with regards to all aspects of your holiday and can assure you that we will be looking into this further. We do advise that our 24 hour Holidayline service is available for all guests and at the cost of a local call charge in Majorca. "

What a fantastic place to stay, when we booked our holiday last year I went into a travel agent and said I needed somewhere with local amenities, beach and family friendly they sent me to sol cala dor apts. And what a brilliant time we had, the kids loved the beach. There is a bar on the corner that does karaoke every night, couldn?t get my daughter off the mike, as everyone was so friendly. The apartments themselves were brill, and so clean, the staff are the nicest people you could meet, they would do anything for you, fresh towels whenever needed etc. It was that good I came back and emailed to ask if we could book again for this year, and it can't come round fast enough Thanks cala dor apartments you are great!!!!

i have been going to the appartments since i was 11 im now 16 and wouldnt want to go anywhere else! staff are friendly foods lovely and the beach is less than a stone throw away!! i made many friends when in cala d'or as it is very family orriantated althought there is loads for just couples to! we have also brought friends along who loved it too and are planning to go back. overall i would say that it is the best place to be:D

Our first time in Majorca and we were very pleasantly surprised. Hotel was lovely and the staff were very friendly. I had my birthday when I was there and a member of staff knocked on our door early on the evening of my birthday with a card and a bottle of wine which was a really nice touch. The hotel caters for all your needs and the restaurant was an ideal place to have a light lunch/late breakfast after an hour by the pool. The resort is spotless and there is plenty to do although we didn't have any children it wasn't a resort that was aimed just at families. The cove is gorgeous and I learnt to swim in the sea. There are plenty of restaurants and lovely shops in the town area as well as some very lively pubs for those couples who want to have a lively evening out. The cocktails are lovely in the outside bar at the bottom of the hill before you get to the beach and a good way to start your evening before you have dinner and a few drinks in the more livelier venues. There is also a gorgeous marina area which also boasts lots of lovely restaurants and bars and you can have a stroll round the marina taking in all the expensive boats and wishing you had won the lottery.

We would definately recommend this resort and hotel to anyone thinking of going to Majorca because it suits everyone of all ages. We will definately be going back - it was my best holiday ever

We hadn't been to Majorca for over 20 years and am so pleased we went back. It was the first time for our children aged 15 and 11 who want to go back again. Great shops, restaurants and cafes. Apartments clean and spacious with good entertainment. Cala d'or beach has lovely soft sand and clear waters which are shallow and safe for children. You can't miss Mr. Tutti frutti who sells fresh pineapple and melon every day! Palma is a great capital and would be brilliant for a weekend break. Santanyi is full of art shops and has a market that runs round the streets. Try the seabass baked in rock salt - simply the best!
