I echo R Osborn?s earlier write up on his stay at Platja D?or Hotel, the wife & I also had low expectations of the Hotel from previous write ups read, but we also enjoyed our stay & have already booked for next September to the same Hotel.
We rated the food as very good, with plenty to choose from at each sitting & with the varied sauces the meats (chicken, pork or beef) were cooked in, pleased the taste buds & from other guests we spoke to, they also rated the food ?very good?. ?R Osborn - You forgot the battered Artichokes?
We preferred the beach to the pool (about a 2 minute walk from the hotel) & was never too busy to park your beach towels & brolly. We used the pool late afternoon & most days had the pool to ourselves.
We would venture for a walk along the beach to either the Port, Bellevue or C?an Picafort areas, well worth the walk to burn off the calories. We also walked to the old town one day, very enjoyable day out without having to sit in the crowded No2 bus.
The only whinge we had is that the Evening Entertainment finished too early, after the Guest Artiste finished around 22:30 hrs, the Entertainers would close up & go home unless persuaded by the guests to play some music to allow us to have a few dances. Come on Entertainers we?re on holiday to enjoy ourselves until the bar closes at least.
All on all, great holiday & looking forward to next year.

I would like to recommend this hotel as we could not have had a nicer holiday. The hotel was very clean and the rooms are brillant air condition at all times. The staff are very friendly they look after you very well. The food was execellant, i enjoyed all my meals and so did my husband who can be a picky eater but found something every day to eat and enjoyed it. I will be going back again for a holiday. The beach is just across the road so near to hotel brillant. As it really for adults it was loverly just to chill and relax a good Thompsons holiday.

This was an excellent hotel. Adults only so no children running around screaming, crying jumping in and out of the pool. There was no loud music around the pool just a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The food was too good, something for everyone. The only thing you should bote is that pool towel are not now supplied. I rang and asked Thomsons and was told that they were so please note this if you go. It is only a little point but cost us to buy some and we have hundred at home.

This was a excellent hotel food was top class with plenty of choice. Only had one snack late evening on the last night as always full. Their was a excellent choice of drinks with a quick service from the bar so no queing. Also a fridge was provided in your room where you could take bottled water etc. The beach was immediatly across the road and was well kept. I would return to this hotel as no complaints.

2nd visit to this hotel after excellent stay same time 2005. We had a superior room which is across the road from the hotel in shared grounds with four other superior rooms. They overlook and give access to the beach with very safe bathing in the sea. The hotel food, waiting staff and bar staff can only be described as 'excellent' The only thing that we can fault was the cleanliness of the superior room which was below par. It had a fusty smell on arrival and the floors were not mopped by the cleaners at any time during our 1 week stay. Overall we still enjoyed our holiday.
