This was our third visit to the Son Baulo. We keep returning because our son who is now 13 years old loves the place. He meets up with other children who have also been to the hotel before, or he makes friends with those who are new to the Son Baulo. This means that we have a nice relaxing holiday!! The location, next to the beach, is superb. You simply walk down a few steps from the hotel bar and you are on the lovely sandy beach. We noticed that there had been improvements made from last year. There were more sun beds, more organised fun for the children and the early breakfast for those of us with very early flights is much improved: you can now have toast with your hot drink and cereal and the restaurant was fully lit, much better than the previous years when we sat in a darkened gloomy room. The food is good and plentiful. The staff are absolutely lovely, from the Thompson reps, reception staff, bar and restaurant staff to the chambermaids and handyman all friendly, helpful and welcoming. My only gripe is the beds and pillows. The rooms are clean but they do need an update. Our beds were hard and the frame squeaky. The pillows were lumpy. It would be lovely if this problem could be tackled. There is no doubt that we will return next year. We enjoyed the Son Baulo very much despite the beds. Excellent value and a lovely place to relax.

My wife and 11 year old son enjoyed a terrific week at the Son Baulo in early August. Food was excellent, we always got a table, plenty of choice and friendly service. Desserts were the best! Hotal staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. We were given a courtesy room on our last day - no charge. Only comments are the pool, which got very busy wih children in the afternoons, and it was a fair walk into the main part of town. However, this is offset by the amazing location right next to the beach. We woke up to some amazing sunrises! There were always plwnty of sunbeds available, even if you arrived later in the day. Went to the Pirates Adventure, which although excellent was extremely expensive. Thompson Rep Alex was helpful and the Kids Club girls were excellent as well. We wanted a boat trip, which Thompson could not offer, but if you walk down to the harbour there is a great company offering a variety of speedboat and glass bottom trips at reasonable prices. We did the 5 hour trip to Formentor - it was very enjoyable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a quiet break with good food.

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Son Baulo and booked again for 2011, what a great hotel, the staff are brilliant espically the waiters (Manolo is the star of the show) and Gill is great at the entertainment (she knows how to work the crowd and the kids loved the mini disco and bingo). The beds aren't the most comfy and the air con can be a bit powerful at night but you can turn it off in your room if you wish. The staff keep the hotel and rooms very clean (fresh towels everyday) and the pool is cleaned out every morning. The food is great and the desserts are to die for. There is plenty of sun beds and you cant reserve them (your towel will be removed) before 8.30am. The hotel is in a great location right on the beach (alot of Germans use the beach) the sea has quite alot of seaweed and can be a bit rough at times. The bus stop and Can Picafort express stop is just across the road from the hotel. Our kids didnt use the kids clubs so I cant comment on that, but the Thomson reps Alex and Viv were very helpful and they knew their stuff. We had a morning flight home (left hotel at 6.50am) so thought we would miss breakfast, but they opened the restaurant at 4am for a continental breakfast. If you book this hotel you wont be disappointed.

Fantastic hotel, food great never had a bad meal, all staff very pleasant and helpful. Alex and Viv the Thomsons Reps were lovely nothing too much trouble. Kids Reps Lollipop Laura, Laura Locket, Suzie Suze and Becky Boo were by far the best that I have ever seen, the Kids had great fun each day. The location of this hotel was brilliant right on the beach and you got a lovely breeze. We hope to return to this hotel it was so good.

We loved the hotel. Unfortunately we were given a room on a low level right next to the delivery entrance. Getting woken at 7am was not pleasant. We asked to be moved, all the reception staff were friendly and accommodating and were moved to the top floor at the far end of the hotel within 3 days at no extra cost. The new room was much better and had double glazing! The Thomson Rep's were very helpful and always available. Nothing was too much for Alex. The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere. It was a buffet with a wide range of food on offer. You could have 5 courses everyday: soup, salad, choice of 4 hot dishes, desert and a selection of cheese. All the chefs, and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was reasonably priced. Waiters were great. Entertainment was varied over the 2 weeks with something for everyone. We particularly liked the comedian and tribute acts. You can't beat the hotel for location. It is on the beach! A white sandy beach, with rocks at one end where you can snorkel, (with your own gear) and a lovely walk into C'an Picafort centre along the shore. Son Baulo is quiet with a few shops and bars. Buses run regularly from outside the hotel to all over the island. We visited Alcudia and Porto Cristo Caves del Drac. Right opposite the hotel was a great car hire shop, with excellent prices. We hired a car for 2 days. Petrol was cheap too, 1.10Euro a litre. We visited La Colobra and Palma. We had a fantastic 2 weeks and have recommended this hotel to friends and family and will definitely be returning within the next few years! Hope You Enjoy It Too!
