Just returned from a week at the Asimina ... Overall a lovely hotel with excellent staff and definitely 5 star service. However our suite was really just a large hotel room, with well worn carpet and wallpaper starting to peel ...which was very disappointing. My husband and I have both travelled extensively and have had much better accommodation in 4 star hotels. Room aside - the hotel is lovely and thankfully a good distance away from the main part of Paphos which was also disappointing as we had been expecting a more cultural resort as opposed to a "costa del paphos" experience. Also the experience at the departure airport was dreadful ... Crowded, chaotic and we only just made the flight.

This was truly the holiday of a lifetime!! I had major surgery in July and this holiday was planned as a restful break to allow recuperation. It didn't disappoint. From the minute we arrived (private taxi transfers) we were treated like royalty and made to feel very welcomed. Greeted warmly by Susan, check in was in a private lounge area with canapes and champagne and an upgrade to a 2 room suite with a full sea view gave our holiday the perfect start! Room was superb - complimentary fruit and a bottle of wine waiting for us, spotlessly clean and a lovely double balcony. Modern bathroom, bed was large and comfortable. Housekeeping faultless, towels changed twice a day, turn down service at night included the lovely touch of a bottle of water left at each side of the bed. Pool area was superb. Shawn and Georgio wouldn't even let us carry our own towels and brought iced melon and cold towels to our sunbeds on a daily basis, all done with a smile. Buffet champagne breakfast, greeted and escorted to table by Natalia, eggs made to perfection by fellow Scot Debbie, ensured the perfect start to the day. Waiters and waitresses in restaurants and around pool area also very friendly and professional, we really didn't even have to leave our sunbeds if we wanted food, cocktails etc. Food in all of the restaurants (there are 3 on site) was first class. Kymata was our favourite, right by the beach, food and service superb. Additional areas of note were the Spa, indoor pool and jacuzzi and the indoor bars (Lounge Bar and VIPs) where, again, the service was superb. Evening entertainment was provided, and was very good, but unfortunately was very quiet, few of the guests made use of this. We did not travel far on this trip but did take the (very busy but cheap and frequent) bus into Paphos to visit the archealogical sites (would recommend, but take water to drink with you as none available once in the site). Loads of local restaurants if venturing outside the hotel - Italian (Cavalerri), African (The Lodge), French (Gabor), Japanese (Koi), Mexican, Indian, Cypriot and Chinese all within walking distance. There is a local supermarket only 10 mins walk from the hotel too. If you are looking for a hotel that is a genuine 5 star then look no further. Nothing is too much bother, the staff genuinely want you to have a fantastic holiday and work hard to make sure that you do. We are already looking at booking for next year!
