We stayed at the park inn (fomely the golden resort) on arrival 2hrs late we askd for water and was told you had 2 buy it, bad start. The food was bad, all drinks were warm if they had any. No water in your rooms, just a empty fridge, no entertainment and when there was you had to pay and there was no beach so for me this was not a good holiday. Eygpt it self was good but this so called 4star hotel let the country down all inclusive my bottom.

WOW from reception to room, maid to manager this hotel was great! We had our worries at first because of the negatives we kept hearing of, worries that were totally unfounded. The hotel is built!! apart from the ampitheatre which is currently under construction, but there was no building noise what so ever, no dust at the pool, apart from a blue tarpaulin you wouldnt even know it was going on. The staff are amongst the best we have ever come across in our travels, friendly, polite, and so helpful Im sure they would stand on their heads if you asked! The resturant was just as good in my opinion although my husband who is the worlds most fussy eater found a couple of days where he grunted at the choice, oh dont get me wrong I found the choice exellent, omelettes, cereal, toast, fresh bread, meat, fish, pasta, salads, potatoes, pies, stews, veg, cakes, pastries, fruit, icecream, pancakes, and if you cant eat from that selection there must be something wrong with you! The room we were given was huge, with two queen size beds, fridge, hairdryer, tv with I must say the best selection of english programs I have ever seen abroad! The room was spotless, we had a single fly in our room and the maid left us a can of spray bless him, the whole place is constantly cleaned from reception to room, and the pool is fantastic. Now about the outside world!!! Expect to be hassled, its just how it is there, they fight for every penny they can earn so its only natural they want you in thier shop. We found that if you turned left out of the hotel and walked for maybe 10 mins across the road there were some hut style shops and behind those a kind of small mall of shops, here they were much more relaxed and if you said you just wanted to look they were more than happy to let you, also they were the best prices for everything, snorkles, flippers, lilos, t-shirts, souveniers just about everything. If however you turn right from the hotel there are more shops but nowhere near as friendly and relaxed and very pushy. We enjoyed a trip on one of the submarines, over the coral reefs, the fish are amazing, as my hubby found when he went snorkling in the sea on one of our beach days, it is a fair walk to the beach but not that bad and its so worth it, beautifully kept , hubby said it was like diving into a fish tank, I just enjoyed the glorious sun and of course the beach bar that you can use. A fantastic hol will be going back, want to see pyramids nxt time a week wasnt enough

Like many other people we were apprehensive about visiting Eygpt but once you have been you will want to go back. The Grand Rotana Hotel was one of the best hotels I have every stayed in. The hotel is spotless, the rooms and service outstanding and the staff really love the English. The hotel has many restuarants all of which serve 5 star food and my children absolutely loved everything from the Italian and Asian quisine, the spoilt for choice breakfasts, the seafood beach terrace, right down to the home made burger and chips. The pool has a slide (the pool was very cold in March) and there is a small heated pool for toddlers and the main games room keeps the children entertained. The service provided by staff was first class with lifts and escaltors from the top reception down to the bottom terrace. Most of the rooms have a sea view on request and each room is tastfully decorated and immaculate. There are shops within the hotel complex but if you like to wonder around and go for long walks this is not the hotel for you as it is based as a complex, however if you like total relaxation you will not be disappointed. The SPA is outstanding and I rate this as one of the best and pure value for money with a TAI massage costing between #25.00 and #35.00 pounds - first class. The hotels is about a ten minute ride from the airport and about a ten minute ride from NAAMA BAY however you could not walk into NAAMA from here. I have never posted a review on a holiday website before felt the need to tell other people just what a fantastic time we had. We paid for bed and breakfast and therefore paid for all other gourmet meals and drinks, bottles of wine, snacks, my children cleaned the mini bar out everday, my husband and I both had massage and treatments and we ate in every restaurant they had. When we checked out our bill was #800.00 for one weeks 5 star stay. Complete value for money. Highly recommended
