You pretty much know what’s in store if you book a flight to Ibiza. It’s a place that needs no introduction. For years, glow stick-wielding clubbers have come to worship at the altar of superstar DJs and their Technics. And it doesn’t look like that’s going to stop any time soon. But, revellers aside, there’s a laid-back vibe to the island. Spend a few days wandering winding cobbled streets where artisan shops let their wares spill out pavement-side. Or just spend them lazing on a beach – the island’s got over 60 strips of sand to choose from.Ibiza Top 5
- PERFECT your tan in arguably the most popular spot - Playa d’en Bossa. Its soft sands stretch for two miles, plus this is where you’ll find open-all-hours beach club, Bora Bora.
- SWAP designer boutiques for the island’s famous Es Cana hippy market. It’s hardly changed in 40-odd years and sells everything from funky jewellery to organic food.
- DIG in to ‘zarzuela’ – Catalan fish stew. It’s a delicious mix of seafood and fish. But be warned, it’s heavy on the garlic.
- PRACTISE your ‘big fish, little fish, cardboard box’ moves at superclubs Space, Privilege and Pacha. You need plenty of stamina, though – things don’t really get going until the early hours.
- TRAVEL back in time in Ibiza Town. The old quarter’s cobbled lanes are splashed in bougainvillea and come wrapped in 16th-century walls.
