Olive-cloaked hills, soft sands and turquoise seas - if you’re after a classic Greek beauty spot, book a flight to Corfu.
On the tourist map, Corfu wears the vintage pin. One of the first Greek Islands to grab the limelight, it still tops the list as a holiday favourite. Known as the Emerald Isle, it’s cloaked in over three million olive trees. And it’s not lacking on the beach front, either. From hourglass-fine swathes to pebble-filled coves, there’s a real mix to pick from. But the scenery is just one part of its charm. Book a flight to Corfu and you’ll find plenty of slow-paced Greek villages, like Pelekas and Sinarades, with little more than a handful of traditional houses and tavernas tucked into the pine-cloaked hills. Upping the tempo, meanwhile, are the nightlife favourites of Kavos and Corfu Town, which burst at the seams with shops, bars and restaurants.
