Flights to Tunisia

Book a flight to Tunisia and get ready to be spoilt for choice – when it comes to must-see sights, North Africa’s smallest country punches well above its weight.

Tunisia may be North Africa’s smallest country, but it packs in a lot of sights. Dougga’s Roman ruins are considered the best-preserved in this part of Africa. And over in El Djem, the 30,000-seater amphitheatre dates back to the 3rd century AD. But flights to Tunisia aren’t just about Roman architecture – there’s a treasure trove of relics left by the Phoenicians, Ottomans and French, too. And most of them are within a few hours’ drive of the coast. Talking of which, one of the best reasons to book a flight to Tunisia is its string of picture-perfect beaches - like Hammamet, Sousse and Monastir.

Tunisia Top 5

  • SOAK up the sun on Hammamet’s bleached-white shore. The stretch here is ten kilometres long, so you can bag your own sandy spot.
  • FLASH the cash in Sousse’s old town. Stalls line the streets, and on Sunday the action moves to the Souq el-Ahad.
  • TRY the local speciality, ‘brik’. These pastry pockets are folded around a lightly-cooked egg topped with anything from tuna to meat.
  • DANCE all night in Moncef Bay. With bars, pubs and clubs lining the main strip, this is Hammamet’s party hangout.
  • STEP back in time at El Djem, 60 kilometres south of Sousse. This huge Roman amphitheatre was built in the 3rd century AD.
