The Location
The brand new Sensatori hotel is on Lyttos Beach, one of the region’s best sandy stretches. Within walking distance is Analipsi, a typical Greek village with tempting tavernas. Sensatori’s just 30 minutes’ drive east of Heraklion and four kilometres away from lively Hersonissos.
The Hotel
Everything about this place whispers luxury. Outside, pristine gardens wrap themselves around a supremely cool pool scene. Inside, it’s all about great bars and restaurants and contemporary rooms you’ll find hard to leave. Talking of rooms, there’s a choice of places to stay. Take your pick from spacious standard rooms that sleep up to three, family rooms for four, or luxury suites with room enough for five. All of these are available as swim-up rooms and some even come with their own private pool. Whichever you go for, every single one has a smart flat-screen TV with English language channels, crisp cotton sheets and soft, fluffy towels.
Dining
We’ve got the balance just right when it comes to food. You can just as easily savour prime steak as grab a hot dog and fries. There are six restaurants to choose from. And with the Full Board Plus package, you can have dinner in four of them free of charge. Eat your way around the world at the main restaurant, which has international buffet stations and show cooking. Go Greek at the taverna. Be tempted by Tex-Mex. Or pile your plate with noodles in the Thai. Whichever one you go for, house wine, draught beer and soft drinks are included with your meals at these venues. Of course, you can dine in the A la Carte and the Beach Grill, too – there’s a supplement for both, which you can pay when you get there. They serve everything from steak and chips to succulent seafood. For the full Sensatori experience, however, it’s worth splashing out on location service. Eat in your room. By the pool. On the beach. Even the spa.
