Europcar Terms and Conditions

Rates bookable exclude all applicable charges which are not expressly mentioned on the prepayment confirmation as included, and for any optional additional services for which the customer may be liable.

All rentals are subject to standard terms and conditions of the Europcar Rental Agreement in effect at the time and place of rental. This agreement will be signed and agreed by the renter.

DEPOSITS

For all rentals with Europcar, a security deposit will be payable. A valid major credit card (but not debit cards) must be presented to the Europcar rental counter at the time of pick up to cover this and any additional anticipated charges not covered by the prepayment amount. An authorisation will be obtained at time of rental and only on return of the vehicle will the corresponding charges be posted to the credit card. Deposit amounts vary from country to country and vary by car category. The credit card must be in the Driver's name.

COLLISION DAMANGE WAIVER AND THEFT WAIVER

In all countries there is an excess to pay if the vehicle is stolen or damaged for whatever reason. It is the renter’s liability to check the inclusions/exclusions of coverage on the Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Waiver.

MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM RENTAL AGE

Age and pre-requisites to drive a Europcar vehicle may vary from country to country and by car category.

DRIVERS

The insurance covers the named driver only, in most countries on collection of the car, you can purchase an additional driver insurance.

LICENCE REQUIREMENTS

All drivers must have held a valid driving licence in effect for one year (or more according to the renting country and the car category) prior to the rental start date and present it to the Europcar rental counter at the commencement of the rental. This must be presented with the driver's passport and credit card.

If the driving licence is of non Roman alphabet (e.g. Japanese) or from outside the EU, then this will need to be supported by an International Driving Licence.

All UK drivers will also need to present their full licence.

CAR CATEGORY

Only a car category can be confirmed. Specific make/model preferences are subject to availability at the time of rental

RENTAL DAYS

Rental days are based on 24 hours periods, based at the time of pick up. Additional days charges will apply if a vehicle if kept longer than specified (additional days begin after a 30 minute grace period and will be billed at the available public rate). It is important to note that your insurance only covers you for the period mentioned on the rental agreement you made on collection of the car, therefore if you decide to return the car later than first planned, please drop into the rental station to amend the rental agreement. In many countries it is a legal requirement to carry a valid rental agreement with you at all times when driving the car.

INSURANCES

Your rental cost includes, Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Waiver and 3rd Party Liability. Additional insurances can be purchased on collection of your car. Please ask at the rental counter on collection of the car. These vary from country to country. Insurance coverage depends on local legislation and markets - information is available to clients on collection of the vehicle.

DELIVERY AND COLLECTION

These vary from country to country and there is charge payable on collection of the car. These are also on a request basis.

OUT OF HOURS

If a car is collected outside the opening hours of a location, a charge will be levied on collection of the car. Out of hours in many countries is on a request basis.

NATIONAL ONE WAY RENTALS

Conditions and charge vary from country to country and by car category.

FUEL

Rates do not include fuel. Vehicles are supplied with a full tank and should be returned with a full tank. Customers will be charged for any missing fuel in addition to a service charge. In some countries, customers may be able to pre purchase a tank of petrol.
