Born in the USA in the 50's, the style was lapped up by young people listening to rock 'n' roll music by the likes of Elvis Presley, and hits such as 'Rock Around the Clock' by Bill Haley and His Comets. The style, sometimes known as LeRoc, quickly spread all over the world, accompanied by that famous dance movement - the twist.
