Discover the magic of the Red Sea with Thomson Cruises.
If you're looking for a holiday with a difference, then you'll be hard pushed to find anything quite like a cruise. Especially when that particular cruise takes in some of the most awe-inspiring sights in the world.
The Red Sea Magic cruise will whisk you from one world-famous location to another, so you can see as much or as little as you like. Wander open-mouthed through the Valley of the Kings. Top up your tan on the beach at Safaga. Or scout for souvenirs in one of many souks and bazaars en route. Whatever you choose to do, this cruise opens the door to some of the oldest and most incredible sights on earth - to the point where 'wow' takes on a completely new meaning.
As if that's not enough, you'll spend two mesmerising days in Aqaba, Jordan. Here you'll get the chance to visit the Aqaba Fort, believed to be home to the world's oldest church, and to venture outside Aqaba for some truly jaw-dropping sights. One must-do is a visit the ancient city of Petra - held by many as the eighth wonder of the world. The city itself is carved into sandstone cliffs, and tombs and temples rise eerily out of the desert like a mirage.
And on top of that, there's just a five-hour flight time to get you there. What more could you ask? Check out our Red Sea Magic video to get a taste of the action.
Allow our impressive ship, Thomson Celebration*, help you to enjoy the wonders of Egypt and the Red Sea. Explore rainbow-coloured reefs and exotic sea creatures. Smother yourself from head-to-toe in mineral-rich Dead Sea mud. Or stir your sense of adventure with a 4x4 desert safari around the real-life setting of the hit film 'Lawrence of Arabia'. The opportunities on offer and the list of sights waiting to be discovered are simply endless.
Both on and off the ship, you can be as active or as lazy as you wish. After all, it's your holiday - so treat it as you like. You'll start in Sharm el Sheikh - the jewel in the Red Sea Riviera's crown - before heading out to sea. A day at sea will give you the chance to explore the ship's impressive onboard entertainment and facilities, not to mention soaking up a bit of sun by the pool or maybe enjoying a nibble from the mouth-watering buffet. Your third day will see you arrive in Port Sokhna, your springboard for Cairo. Here you'll be swept off your feet with Tutankhamun's treasures, a myriad of souks, mosques, and museums, and of course the Giza pyramids - lingering on the outskirts of the city and guarded by the mysterious Sphinx. And that's just for starters.
Your fourth day brings you to the port of Safaga, where you can take things easy in the beach resort of Hurghada or take a trip into the bustling city of Luxor. Built on the 4,000-year old site of ancient Thebes, Luxor stands on the east bank of the Nile - the lifeblood of the city. From the incredible Temple of Luxor, the Valley of the Kings and the jaw-dropping obelisks built by Ramses II, you'll be hard-pushed to fit it all in. Your final two days will then be spent in Jordan and the incredible desert landscape, Wadi Rum, not to mention the famous 'Lost City' of Petra, where ancient temples are cut into the cliff face.
