There is currently no change in the FCO’s (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) advice against non-essential travel to Kenya due to the continuing potential threat of unrest in certain areas.
In light of the FCO advice against non-essential travel, all outbound bookings are to be cancelled 72 hours prior to departure. First Choice and Thomson have therefore cancelled all outbound bookings due to travel on 18th and 19th January 2008.
Customers due to travel on these dates have been or will be offered an alternative holiday or free cancellation and refund.
The flight will operate empty to Mombasa in order to bring home the last charter passengers for both First Choice and Thomson.
The situation is being reviewed daily, and any customers due to depart after this date will be advised of any change to their itinerary as per the FCO’s advice should their holiday need to be cancelled or amended as per the booking conditions (see below).

Following the outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease, it is now illegal to take some meat and dairy products abroad. From 7th August it will be illegal to take meat, meat products, milk and dairy products abroad from animals that are susceptible to foot and mouth disease, including cattle, pigs, goat, sheep and deer. This ban includes sandwiches, packed lunches and food for self-catering holidays. It also includes fresh, chilled, frozen, tinned, preserved and processed products. Foot and mouth disease presents no risk to humans but does pose a serious threat to animal health. It can be spread to susceptible animals through a variety of food products. It is therefore important that you DO NOT take food products abroad. To find out more, please visit the Defra website (www.defra.gov.uk) or call 08459 33 55 77.
