Health advice for individual countries is available from the Foreign and Commonwealth office website. We also recommend you
speak to your doctor at least 2 months before you're due to go away. Some treatments, for malaria for example, should begin well before you go. If you're booking within 3 weeks of your departure, speak to your doctor before you book.
You now need a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) to receive healthcare during your visit to an EEA country or Switzerland. The EHIC replaces the old E111, which is no longer valid. For further information about the EHIC, please visit the Foreign and Commonwealth office website.
