What benefit do I get from booking Thomsonfly Premium seats?

Thomsonfly Premium seats allow you to enjoy more space and comfort, with wider seats, free drinks, a selection of blockbuster movies and special in-flight meals. Visit our Thomsonfly seating page for more information (please be aware that seats together are not guaranteed when booking Premium).

How do we book seats together on the flight?

You will be assigned a seat at check-in on a first come first served basis. If you prefer, you can select and book your seats before you travel (for a nominal fee). You can reserve your seats at the time that you make your online booking, or you can add pre-booked seats on to an existing booking by contacting 0871 231 4787. Please note, passengers with disabilities or restricted mobility are not allowed to sit in the rows at the emergency exit, so we must be made aware of any disability when a passenger pre-reserves a seat. Where can I find out more about your 33" seat pitch?

We offer a 33 inch seat pitch on all long-haul flights. Visit www.thomsonflysenses.co.uk for more information. For all other seating options, including information on upgrades to our seats with extra space and Premium seating, visit our seating services page.

What is the standard seat pitch on a Thomsonfly aircraft?

The standard seat pitch on a shorthaul flight is approx 28 inches, and on all long haul flights it is a minimum of 33 inches. For a nominal fee, passengers may upgrade to receive the benefits of sitting in seats with extra space. Find out more

How do I select and pre-book my own seat when travelling with Thomsonfly?

You can pre-book your seats from £5 per passenger per flight. This can either be done at the time you book, or by contacting our call centre on 0871 231 4787. To select your seat at the time of booking, please perform the following:

  • Visit Thomsonfly.com and carry out a search using the panel on the left-hand side of the screen.
  • Select your preferred flight, and at the 'Passenger Details' section of the booking process, click the 'Select your seat' button at the bottom of the page. This will lead you to our 'Choose your seat' page.
  • If your flight supports this function, the 'Choose your seat' page will display a diagram of an aircraft. Use your cursor to select your seat. A key consisting of seats and their prices is displayed on the right-hand side of the page. Once you have clicked the seat you want, it will turn red and upon selecting the 'Continue' button, you will be able to choose a seat for your return flight (if applicable) and to confirm the seats you have selected.
  • You can then proceed with your online booking.

Please note that not all flights support 'Choose your seat', and in this case a note will be displayed on the page and no aircraft diagram will be shown. Restrictions apply to some seats. Alternatively, please contact our Call Centre on 0871 231 4787.

How do I get a seat with extra space?

Seats with extra space are found at the front of the aircraft - this may be by the 'bulkhead' - or by an emergency exit. You can reserve your seat either online at the time of booking, or after your booking has been made. If you have already booked, you can amend your seating options online, or call us on 0871 231 4787.

As our seats with extra space are located by the emergency exits, behind a 'bulkhead' or a dividing wall, in order to book one of these seats you must satisfy the following requirements.

Passengers choosing to sit in these seats must NOT be:

  • Under the age of 14 (passengers must be aged 14 and over for short haul flights, and aged between 20 and 65 for long haul flights)
  • Experiencing any medical conditions
  • Obese (passengers should be of a suitable size)
  • Disabled
  • Under the influence of alcohol
  • Pregnant
  • Responsible for an infant for the duration of the flight
  • Elderly or frail

In the opinion of the cabin crew, passengers must also have the strength and full mobility to open the Emergency Exit door.

These regulations have been put in place by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and are for the safety of all passengers onboard. Unfortunately, anyone who does not meet these requirements cannot be accepted for these seats.

If you are therefore restricted from sitting in one of these seats, but you still wish to reserve a seat with more space, you may wish to upgrade to Premium. Premium seats are not based near emergency exits and are therefore suitable for all passengers.

Please be aware that passengers choosing seats with extra space or a Premium upgrade are not automatically seated together. To request seats together, please make sure you select the appropriate option during the online booking process.

Please note, for 0871 numbers calls cost 10p per minute and for 0844 numbers calls cost 5p per minute. Charges apply at all times from BT landlines. Other operator networks may vary.
