Super South Beach Stay
This hotel has an excellent location in the heart of the Art Deco District of South Beach. A 20 minute drive from Miami International Airport and easy to find on Collins Avenue. We parked in the Public Car Park 2 blocks north of the hotel on 16th Street and Collins - turn left just after Quality Meats and the Royal Palm Hotel on the right and opposite the Loews Hotel. At $16 for 24 hours great value. Check in was friendly and efficient and we were escorted to our room in the next door building. As expected there was a resort fee which covered the wifi ,beach towels and welcome cocktails and a refundable deposit was held on a credit card. The room was bright ,clean and freshly decorated in the Art Deco style. In contrast to other reviews we found the bathroom to be more than adequate with a large walk in shower and toiletries. The queen beds were comfortable and there was very little noise despite the central location of the hotel . There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. An ice machine was available in the corridor outside. Entry to the building was accessed using the room keycard. Breakfast was excellent ; my daughter loved the hash browns, saying they were the best she had ever tasted and she always loves using a waffle maker. The scrambled eggs were fresh and good consistency. The only negative with regard to drinks and meals supplied was the provision of plastic cutlery rather than silverware and plastic cups for the welcome drinks. Convenient location for the beach , Art Deco district and surrounded by numerous excellent places to eat and drink , there is also a Walgreens across the road. I would definitely stay here again if visiting South BeachMore
Not the best, not the worst
So I stayed here after having not visited Miami in about six years. The room look and overall quality was okay. But the problem started upon check-in. What I ordered was a room with two beds. What I got was a room with one Queen bed and that was a problem. I was told that I chose rooms assigned upon check-in,but nowhere on the website did it say that I was not guaranteed what I reserved. The clerk tried to explain it but later told me the hotel was sold out and it was the only room available. There was also a price difference with the the room I ordered being more than the room I received. That price difference was never address or adjusted They tried to resolve it with a rollaway bed but again not what I signed up for. What was the major problem was a man that clearly was not a guest that was allowed to hang out in the lobby and on the hotel terrace. I told the night clerk that I don't think that the man stayed at the hotel because he was clearly wearing the same clothes that I had seen him in the day before. It was a little creepy and he kept offering to give me a massage which added to my level of uneasiness. So overall had a great time in Miami but I don't think I'll be returning to this particular hotel.More
we had a great time at this hotel and our room was lovely with the balcony, although I wouldnt call it a penthouse. Was expecting something larger for what we paid. Breakfast in the morning was awesome. NIce and quiet, bed was comfortable, walking distance to everything! Thye valet parking turned out to be cheaper (and easier) then parking in the pay garage one block away.More
Clean, modern, spacious
We just stayed one night at the President, great price, conveniently located, very comfortable bed and they put us in a very quiet room on the 4th floor. We used valet parking which worked great until after our departure when we got a phone call that the valet driver had left his key card in our car. We were 30 minutes away, we found it under the drivers seat, turned around drove back 30 minutes to return. Our request was to be reimbursed for the parking fee we paid, NO....next time we keep on driving.More
