With a setting on historic Ocean Drive and trendy interiors, the Penguin Hotel seamlessly blends the old with the new.
This hotel has secured a close-to-the-action spot on Miami’s world-famous Ocean Drive. Restaurants, bars and historic buildings roll out from its doorstep. And it’s just a minute’s stroll from the beach.
You might be in the middle of the Art Deco district, but this place is modern to a T. Rooms are inspired by nature – think pebble wallpaper, marble countertops and glass chandeliers.

Pleasant and Convenient Place in Miami Beach
The hotel is well-situated with easy access to the beach. The rooms are inviting and clean.Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good and sitting on the terrace enjoying breakfast or lunch is quite nice. There is no parking on the street and the parking lot on 13th Street and Collins has a 10 hour maximum for parking, which means that you will get a ticket unless you are willing to walk over there at the crack of dawn to feed the meter.More
Very good place for Breakfast
We stayed at the Betsy but we ventured around the area to eat breakfast at various spots. The Penguin was one of the better places we found in South Beach. You can have breakfast indoors or outdoors and both offer good views to people watch or just enjoy the nearby park vista. with temperatures quickly approaching 90 it was an easy choice for me especially after seeing the pained incredulous look my wife was giving me. I ordered the Lumberjck and my wife ordered Crabcake Benedict. Both were very good. My only complaint is for the price of the Lumberjack juice should have been include. As with most restaurants in South Beach an 18% gratuity is always include with your billMore
A nice place where stopping for breakfast
The place is within one of the most famous areas of Ocean Drive. The service in very good and the quality of the dishes is excellent. Quantities are for ladies rather then for heavy workers ... so be prepared. If you need a dozen of crispy bacon ... well ... find a different place :)More
A wonderful art deco hotel in a great location
It is right in the centre of the Art Deco area and opposite the board walk all along the beach. Despite it's location we didn't find it noisy even with all the hubbub of the area. It's also very close to public transport which goes everywhere on the island and even to the airport and across to Miami so very good for sightseeing. The bedrooms have been renovated beautifully air-con and a huge mural along one wall. It has a room safe and fridge (empty) for your use and we had 2 complimentary bottles of water each day. They also offer a free welcome cocktail which is nice to drink on the terrace and watch the world go by. Breakfast, also on the terrace, was included with fruit juice and a hot drink and a great choice of breakfast dishes which were all delicious. The restaurant/bar also is open all day with a small seating area inside as well as the terrace. The staff were all friendly and helpful too and if we go back to Miami, we'd try to book this hotel again.More
