This hotel is not what it seemed when viewing pictures. My experience was unsatisfactory! There was a mildew smell, construction and the rooms were the size of my hallway closet. It seemed more like dorm rooms than a hotel room, and I was refunded my money (thank God) as I couldn't stay! It may be more appropriate for college students!!More
Do not waste your money here!
We arrived on a Friday afternoon to stay until Sunday. Upon arrival, we found a huge dumpster in the front of the hotel, next to the entrance. However, the hotel is not under construction nor is it being remodeled. The hallways were carpeted with old disgusting carpeting. Upon check in, we heard a guest complaining about the excessing noise. I must say the front desk, did not appear too concerned about correcting the problem. The refrigerator in our room was not working. After asking two times, they replaced it the night before we checked out. The pictures on the hotel website are fictitious. The pool area and our room looked nothing as advertised! The pool area was filthy. There were stray cats throughout the shrubs near the pool, and the smell of urine was unbearable. The hotel is run down, looks like its under construction and unsanitary. So if you're looking to have a relaxing stay, considering the rate is high, do not book your stay with The Mimosa Hotel!More
Do yourself a favor and Don't even think about staying here! Spent 5 days here in Mid March and cannot believe we gutted it out all week. The constant noise from renovations made it impossible to sleep past 8am every day. The hallways were constantly filled with debris and workers. In addition the construction of a new skyscraper next door made it impossible to sit by the pool or the beach, not that there were any chairs to sit on the beach. The staff ,expect for Jorge, were uncaring and rude to the fact that we were unsatisfied. When we asked to speak to the manager she was conveniently always in some meeting or away.More

Tucked away from the giant steel and glass skyscrapers; inexpensive but not cheap.
I'm glad I didn't read the other reviews before I visited here. The staff was amazing. They helped me unload and move my entire family of 6 into the room. Amazing view of the Atlantic from my room. Plenty of room for all of us. We were after all only sleeping in the room. The pool was excellent with the cabana's and areas to lounge in. The lounge/bar/lobby was a little unconventional, but that is not to detract from it. The front desk person was as talkative as any bartender I ever met. Drink prices seemed pretty reasonable for Miami Beach to me. The Art Decoey kind of thing they have going on in the lobby was cool. My kids really liked it. And the food at the front, was surprisingly good. I mean it is being served in the lobby of a hotel. And reasonable as well. I think breakfast for 6 of us cost less than $40, and all were happy with it. They even have an espresso machine sitting there. And for what little they charge, you will never use the coffee pots in the room for what is down in the lobby. Bed, Bath and Bodyworks soaps and lotions in the room. This place, is not cheap, but pretty damn inexpensive. Yes, they are doing renovation work on the property. So you do see workmen in the hallways during the day painting and changing fixtures and such. But, there was no noise at night, or even in the morning. And we had a lot of late sleepers in our room. I was out working during the day and my family was at the property. I heard nothing but great things from them about the staff and the place while I was away. Not sure what everyone is complaining about. Its not costing you $500 a night. Again, its pretty inexpensive for what you get and where you are. I will be back to stay as often as my travels allow.More
