stolen money from card.
absolutely dreadful hotel, stayed for 3 nights at the start of April 2017, after getting back to the UK I checked my credit card to see my card had been charged by the hotel after we left even though we had paid everything up, after contacting the hotel on facebook (because they didn't respond to any emails I sent). they said they would look into why my card was charged, have not heard back from them since even after contacting them again. After reading several reviews it is clear I am not the only one this has happened to, it seems to be a theme for them to charge people twice and see if they can get away with, Would certainly not stay again and would advise anybody to not stay here. As for the money they have stolen from me they are certainly in no rush to correct this.More
Great location on South Beach.
Old, art deco style hotel that appears to have come back! Our room was nicely appointed and we had a street view. King Bed. Old wooden floors add to the ambience and funkiness. Staff were very nice and helped us in anyway way. We would stay there again if we have a chance.More
Stayed here for 3 nights in April. Wasnt sure when I first seen the hotel, but turned out to be a good stay. When we arrived the bar wasnt open due to a power cut and the Wifi wasnt working properly either. But fixed the next day. The ported guy who arranged our trips was excellent. Always helpful and couldnt do enough for us. Suggested where to go and arranged trips and taxis. The only time we had food in the hotel on the last morning before we went to the airport (due to it raining). Food was ok. Rooms were basic but did the job as we were only in them a few hours. But could do with a bit of renovation. Location was excellent and perfect for our needs, close to the beach, shops and some interesting restaurants and bars. Also miami ink around the corner and I had a quick look inside. Found Miami to be expensive but it didnt help with the poor exchange rate on the pound.More
I am a travel agent who unfortunately booked 3 rooms at this property for clients. This is a note that I got from one of my travelers, the other was just a text saying "this hotel is a joke"! I just thought I'd let you know my feelings about that hotel. First thing when we got checked into the room, I wanted to call the rest of my travel companions to let them know that we had arrived. I picked up the phone and it literally fell apart in my hand! I went down to the desk to get it fixed or get a replacement, their so called engineer came to the desk and said the battery was dead (what that has to do with the phone being in pieces, I have not figured out) She replaced the battery and said I would have no phone until the next day because the battery needed to charge(?!?) I think I told you about the soap issue, the towel issue, the kleenex issue, blah blah blah or lack thereof so I won't go into that again. The next day, I tried the phone again (still not working) because the so called internet service in the hotel was not working (forgot to tell you about that). I told Jean we probably needed a password like guest or something. My travel companion went to the desk this time and asked about it. That person gave her explicit instructions on how to access it. We did as they told her and it still didn't work so I went down and asked someone to come up and fix it. They sent the doorman (!) who was able to get us onto the internet---very, very slow internet almost like the old dial up. He radioed the engineering dept and she (the same one who replaced the battery the night before) came up to find out why we still had no phone and said she was sorry but there wasn't much she could do but would call the phone company and it would be fixed that day. Well we were there for 4 days and never had a phone. Add that to the rest of the very poor service and it was nearly $1000 down the drain (includes that last day surprise of MORE taxes.)That place is a piece of crap hotel. I will never recommend that place to anyone...even people I don't like.More
Great hotel experience at a very good price
Excellent central location close to beach, Lincoln Rd and all events North and South. We had a great room third floor balcony overlooking the pool. There are actually three buildings and the is definitely the one to try and get. Cool design elements throughout hotel, kinda 50s inspired. 2 twin beds, super clean room. Very nice staff. Lovely pool with lots of chairs and cabanas. Very upscale!! The only complaints were the very mediocre food and drink served by the pool. Mojitos with lime cordial in Miami?? We would have eaten there every day and drank a lot if the food and beverages were better. And there seemed to be a few people there who weren't hotel guests, eating and drinking from food they had in a cooler (glass bottles), and playing really loud tacky horrible music. Management should monitor behavior of a few that are ruining the otherwise wonderful experience for others.More
