And, in terms of contemporary trimmings, they come with Wi-Fi, 37" flatscreen TVs and in-room coffeemakers as standard. If space is top of your priority list, opt for a suite and you’ll get a dining area and a spacious living room.

The dining scene here is first class, too. There’s the chic Luce Restaurant, which has the atmosphere of a fine Italian eatery and a wine list to match. Or there’s the Harvest Bistro, where American classics are the order of the day. Elsewhere, try the poolside Beech Restaurant for free-flowing mojitos served up in a laidback atmosphere.
