The Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista provides easy access to Orlando’s world-famous theme parks. It’s a five-minute drive from Walt Disney World and puts on a free shuttle bus service there and to SeaWorld and the Universal Orlando® Resort. Convenient, low cost and friendly
Lovely hotel which is in the middle of all the parks. Easy for accessing universal studios and Disney by car. The shuttle bus schedule seemed very limited so as we had a car we did not use it. I now plan to book this hotel for any future visits to Orlando as its everything you need at a very good price. We stayed for 18 nights, so plenty of time to test it thoroughly. Air con worked well and little noise from guests walking past the room. We had a room near the stairwell so should have had lots of visitors walk buy. We did get a bit of a sales spiel when we arrived. But they were not pushy or off-putting. We didn't buy anything as I had already booked everything we needed.More
LBV - close to Disney
Superb location, LBV is excellent stay here few times, better than I-Drive and Kissimmee. 5 mins from Disney Springs, as for the hotel it's budget and basic, avoid the lobby as they try to hard sell you tickets and time shares (avoid anyone in Sheraton tshirts). Shuttles aren't at great times if you want to get to parks early. Restaurant expensive and buffet not great, pools basic, splash zone good for kids, air con very loud but good when hot! If staying with young kids it's not ideal really as no balcony or other room whilst they are sleeping. If your thinking we won't be spending anytime in the hotel as we will be in parks or eating our etc, this hotel will do. Alarming that I've seen a few reviews about staff just entering rooms and saying 'Sorry' happened several times to us. Really didn't fell as if my things were secure so didn't leave money in room. Lake BV is superb for Disney parks and 15 mins from Sea World or Universal, my 7th visit and decided to do the holiday on a budget and see what it was like, my advice would be try and go to the Orlando and stay in Disney if you can drop on a free dinning plan your laughing, villas are excellent as well. You get what you pay for an average, clean hotel. Oh and don't use the hotel shop it's so expensive Wal-Mart close and so cheap. More
SAFETY CONCERN! Strangers entering room without notice!!
My poor rating is mainly based on a major safety concern noted while staying at this hotel that went completely disregarded by the hotel manager! I wrote their customer relations line immediately following my stay and 3 weeks later have not received a response - so I'm writing here to warn others!! I came visiting the Orlando area on a business trip May 2017. I am a young female, and was traveling alone for the majority of the trip. Most of my time during the day was spent working, so therefore I was not spending much time in the room. Most days, I left the “do not disturb” on the door, in order to allow housekeeping to skip over my room as most days it did not need servicing. However, about halfway through my trip I decided to have housekeeping service as my trash was piling up. I left the room early in the morning at returned to the room around 3pm. At this time, housekeeping had already serviced my room. Being young female traveling alone, I usually lock the deadbolt on the door as soon as I enter, but I was exhausted, so I came back and got into bed to take a nap. Around 4pm, I awoke to someone entering my room. The person did not knock before or while entering, or give any indication of who they were or why they were entering my room. As soon as they realized someone was in the room they said, “sorry” and quickly shut the door. I was so startled, and by the time I rolled over to see the person they were already gone. I was unsure if this was a hotel employee entering my room, or if someone at the front desk had accidentally assigned my room to someone else (as I had read reviews about this happening). Being frightened for my safety and concerned over who was entering my room, I immediately called the front desk and asked to speak to a manager. After expressing my concern to the hotel manager, I felt very brushed off. The manager asked if I just checked in (I checked in a week prior), if I had ordered room service or laundry service (I hadn’t), or if it was housekeeping coming to service my room (room had already been serviced for the day). I told the manager that none of these were the case, and that I felt unsafe in my room. She told me that she would find out who entered my room, and contact security regarding the issue. I expected a call back from the manager at some point for an apology, or to provide me with an explanation as to who it was. The manager never called me back after the incident. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO DEADBOLT ROOM WHILE INSIDE!! I was very pleased with my stay and hotel staff up until this incident occurred, but after was left feeling unhappy and unsafe in my room. Safety is my number one concern while visiting new hotels, and I picked Clarion LBV because it seemed like a safe place to stay. Even if it was a hotel staff member entering my room, they should not be entering my personal space without a courtesy knock to see if anyone is in the room. The room was checked out to me, so no employees should be entering the room without knocking. I could’ve been changing or in the shower! What was a pleasant stay quickly turned sour when the hotel manager was less than concerned regarding the incident, and did not even supply an apology. If this is how safety concerns are approached at all choice hotels, I will definitely not be conducting any further business. The staff at this hotel should definitely be taught courtesy, and to knock before entering a guest’s room!More
Room was average - clean - no breakfast with room - be sure to get parking lot side - highway side keeps you awake all night - pleasant staff - nice pool area. Would stay again if it included breakfast.More
CUSTOMER SERVICE/MANAGEMENT NEEDS VAST IMPROVEMENT!
My personal experience of the hotel was already bad before we even arrived... Because the airline I was traveling on was so incompetent and had no chance of departing/arriving on time I decided to call the hotel to let them know that our flight was delayed - I was thus told that I didn't have a reservation (which I paid for & booked 74 days prior)... I was then told I should contact the website I had booked from and find out what happened - I did reluctantly and was met with the information I already had proof of... Come to find out the manager Anthony had checked me in for my stay despite him assuming I had called the wrong hotel and had no such reservation...... Not only did I pay for a day I didn't even use but was met with such disrespect - No one was apologetic for my two young children (3 & 7 years old) and husband having had to wait at the airport for over 7 hours before we even departed... I was just calling as a courtesy and to make sure my reservation wasn't going to be canceled for arriving after midnight...... Now the thing that made the trip to this hotel disgusting is that they do not change your sheets unless you request it - In fact housekeeping came into our room and was more interested looking through my makeup than cleaning... They changed the pillows but not the sheets - And how I knew was because there were stains in the bed I was sure were not from and my female children... So probably they do not change the sheets at all from guest to guest - Florida has some kind of "conservation" law that wasn't explained to us verbally by the front desk... In fact it was more of like you are bothering us and we are too busy for you since we have already retrieved your money - The price was fairly economical for those want to be near DISNEY, but not at all a great place o stay... What was great about the stay was that there are several places to eat at with the DINE4LESS card - Plus you are pretty much in the heart of it all, but I will not be returning to this place at all... There phone etiquette needs some work and Anthony needs to be fired... If we weren't so busy we may have used some of the amenities on site but never did... The microwave was a convenience but the refrigerator was not working properly and when that was also brought up to front desk it seemed not a concern as well... So I give this place a one star mainly because of how I was personally treated as a prepaid customer - I only liked it's location most and liked that if we really didn't have anything to do there were a playground & sprinklers for my two kids to enjoy... I say do your own research and make your own decision - This review was based upon my personal experience and because I work in the customer service field I have a much higher standard... If you like to be treated like the masses this place is good for you - Tour buses full of loads of people show up at a place like this so don't expect much... If location is important to you than this place is great - Walking is even an option if you are trying to save money (We rented a car for our stay because we like to come as we please) as the hotel provides transportation...... For me since this is my longest trip with my family and our third so far this year I am learning what is important to me and what I like and do not like - This was not what I liked... But for you it may work - The stars it gets is not worthy (I would put this hotel in the two to 2.5 star range)...More
