My Friends and I had a wonderful time. The bartenders at the Tiki Bar were friendly and helpful.More
Old needs upkeep. Not a resort just a hotel
This hotel is nice for a reg hotel. It should not call itself a resort. Green algae in kid pool, pool chairs ripped, sun chairs filthy. No towels, and when there is they are so old. Shuttle service times make no sense, they stop shuttle before parks even close. All air conditioning systems rusted on outside of rooms. Ponds smell bad. Pools close early. Backside backs up too parking lot of wawa so hope you dont get that side. Nicole in customer service is horrible. But the manager was very nice. She was the best part of the hotel.More
Great location, but needs decor update
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Food was amazing, fresh and well seasoned. I've never stayed at a hotel with food this delicious. The rooms need updating and renovation. Upon arrival my bathroom did not appear clean. At first glance it appeared to be surface cleaned (sink and mirror cleaned). Upon further inspection, the toilet was running and there was black grime around the toilet bowl. The tub appeared dirty with water stains and a red stained area. I called to have the bathroom cleaned. The housekeeper arrived and I left to allow her to do her job in privacy. Upon my return, the toilet was clean, but the tub appeared unchanged. I came to the conclusion that the tub must be stained. Each day the room was cleaned and refreshed, but I noticed that several days, the housekeeper did not refresh my cups of ice bag. Also, I was given new towels, but my wash clothes were not refreshed, I had to go ask for more on day 3 as I has finally ran out. The lock to the sliding door in my room did not function. After having to call for an unclean bathroom, a safe that needed servicing, I decided not to call for the lock. The room did have a security bar that lays behind the door to prevent sliding. The safety bar was enough for me as the door could not be opened and I declined to report. The room was nice and cold just the way I like. I could adjust the thermostat when needed. The staff were all extremely friendly, no service complaints at all. Although Gatorville (the restaurant) was small, the food was amazing, I could have eaten there everyday. I travel frequently and have never stayed at a hotel with food that tastes like a real restaurant. Overall, the property has potential, but the rooms require updating and there are no additional activities on the property outside of the pool. I did enjoy myself and overall I do not believe my complaints about the room are enough to say that it was a bad stay or that I wouldn't stay there again. The front desk staff were responsive to all of the concerns that I voiced and sent someone to address them within a reasonable amount of time. The The staff were amazingly kind, especially the staff at Gatorville. I don't know the gentleman's name, but he is a middle aged caucasian gentleman (older than the other staff) with a gentle voice and a older west indian lady that worked the breakfast shift. They were sooooo kind and welcoming every morning. Employees like them are what keep customers coming backMore
3 day conference
Conference facilities were excellent. However my room and building had no ice, there was no ice in the adjacent building either which required a 200 yard trip to obtain ice from other building. I knotified management of this within one hour of booking in. The room was older but clean, however there was NO water pressure to shower. I had a disabled room on the ground floor with a handheld shower if you turned the headpiece over there was not even enough pressure to make a small fountain. I also complained about this. The pool restaurant was great, recommend the breakfast and lunch ( did not try dinner) The grounds are well kept, and pools clean, tolerable for a conference but I would be disappointed if this was my vacationMore
Don't believe the pictures!
Just had a week stay, checked in, room is nothing like the resort room pictured on there site, it was a dark miserable looking room, I chose this over another hotel purely on the picture of the standard room, bright and sunny, nope. Then within 5 minutes, unpacked, safe was still locked from previous guest so security had to come and unlock it, they did very quickly, then washed my hands in the bathroom the plug was jammed down, the plumber then came to fix it, this wasn't a proper fix, 2 days later the cleaner had pushed it down so it was jammed stuck again, had to use the bath to have a wash as the water couldn't go down and I'm not sitting in waiting for another fix. Beds were comfy, aircon very good. Pool was a bit scruffy and could do with some TLC. Reception areas were very nice and clean. Check out, now being British we don't get these 'extra' taxes added, 3 lots, the most expensive being resort tax of $21.95 per night then tax state $5.48 per night and county tax $5.06 per night plus on top of that fee tax $1.43 & $1.32 per night so from me booking a last minute cheap week at $542 I ended up paying $782.86!!! So just be aware the price you think you will pay does not include these extra taxes. We were in block 8 which my patio doors looked out onto a car park, getting there a night felt a bit unsafe but we did see quite a bit of security about, plus there's a double lock with a bar across the door to deter break ins. Location is very good for I-drive. Stayed in better places for less money in Orlando. More
