Second time back, and it didn't disappoint
This was our second time in Orlando, and we decided to return to Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando; we weren't disappointed. Whilst not as modern as some hotels on I-Drive, it certainly would appear to offer the overall best value for money (friends were staying at different hotels which we also visited throughout the trip). The hotel, I believe, has the best location directly opposite some very nice and classy restaurants and bars at Pointe Orlando, it is directly next to North/ South I-Trolley routes and Lynx buses which transport you to Disney/ Seaworld/ Airport if you are on a budget ($2 each way!). Additionally, the hotel is within walking distance of many other lively bars and restaurants to cater to a variety of tastes. An additional benefit for staying here is that you have facilities of the outdoor pool complex and fitness centre at the Rosen Plaza (higher spec hotel) just next door. The hotel itself has 3 outdoor pools which are smaller in size but very popular with families. I think the cleaning staff and serving staff in the shops were all of a high standard, but I do believe that some of the check-in staff could work on their hospitality. While the person who checked us in was lovely, at times service from the reception staff was a bit 'short', compared to other hotels, the welcome at Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando could be a little 'warmer' (for example, I overheard reception staff telling a customer to order a taxi themselves as it would be easier).More
beware with using credit cards
Stayed here once before in 2013, so when husband booked a cruise with a three night stay on international drive, we were happy when we found out it was the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando as we had an enjoyable stay before. Check in was swift, location of room was what we asked for in advance. Food was okay in restaurant, location of hotel was good as it was on bus and trolley routes. Staff friendly and helpful, always saying hello when meet you in corridors. Pool was always clean and tidy. We purchased some souvenirs in the hotel shop by the restaurant using a credit card as we were saving our cash for the cruise. On hindsight we wish we hadn't, because four months after we returned, husband started getting texts to say unusual activity and amounts trying to be accessed. As we had to report this, it was then we found out that our card had been scanned and was being used causing us a lot of problems. Luckily, we didn't lose anything but could have. After this we are more vigilant and don't use the card if we can help it. It has definitely made us think about using this hotel again though.More
Close to Convention Center and Universal
I was in town for a conference at the Orange County Convention Center and this hotel was only a couple of blocks away. The rooms were comfortable with two double beds and the price was great for what quality. The hotel was pretty quiet overall with the only exception being the wall AC that has to run round the clock to keep the temperature at 70. Overall, I would gladly stay here again with no concerns. They offer free shuttles to Universal as well although I never used those shuttles. If you want to go to Disney, you are probably a good 20 minutes away.More
Clean & Affordable
Location is great! Rooms are clean..loved what they did with the renovations. Amenities are a major plus. Love the fact that the hotel is 100% non-smoking, which is perfect for family travel. Also, the buffett is worth checking out! Another benefit is the fact that they have a DELI on-site! Can we say life saver??? A huge THANK YOU to TERRY from the front desk for getting some issues resolved within a timely manner. Your customer service, attention to details, knowledge on the hotel was of high quality and excellence.More
Florida here we come
Rooms had all you needed for a pleasant stay. Remember you'll only use it to sleep. Staff friendly. Food good. Three pools to choose from, all clean and well maintained. BUT the hotel, like some others, is next to the I4! Like being next to M6 so as you can imagine at night not easy to get a good nights sleep. If your staying around international drive you may want to bear this in mind... If you have good ear plugs, or already live next to M6, Then book here for a good priced hotel..More
