Browse the boutiques, which are crammed full of beach gear and kitsch souvenirs, or sit at a chic bar with a cocktail to hand as you look out over the waves. Visitors don't tend to roll up here for much sightseeing, but one thing that certainly put the town on the map is the Daytona International Speedway, home of the Great American Race - the Daytona 500. Don't miss a tour around this enormous 480-acre sports complex, which is known as the World Centre of Racing. Real fans of the sport should also head for Daytona Beach's Klassix Auto Attraction, a museum that features some impressive vintage motorcycles and cars.
