The Highlands Reserve might be Scottish in name, but first impressions are all-American. The villas come with big garages, palm-lined gardens and even a mailbox at the end of the drive.
Inside you’ll find open-plan living areas with comfy sofas and dining tables that’ll fit all the family. The kitchens are kitted out with a microwave, a washing machine and a dishwasher, so you’re all set for self-catering, too.
But the real draw for this place is the 18-hole championship golf course on its doorstep. The clubhouse is only a couple of minutes’ walk from most of the villas, and the complex has a play area for little ones if you fancy a few rounds. Read more ››

Bunnyville 556 Bonville Drive Highland Reserve Davenport
6 of us stayed here for 6 nights. We were returning from Port Canaveral & found it easily. Nice villa & surrounding area. My 2 sons had a twin bedroom each. Master bedroom & other double had plastic on the beds so sheets pinged off on every turn- this did not make for a good nights sleep!! No instructions left for equipment or pool - but we eventually muddled through. Coming from Scotland, we're not too familiar with our own pools, so found this one very murky for the first few days. Eventually we realised that if we used the hose located outside & ran fresh water into it, that cleared it quickly! (Possibly obvious to lots of you reading this, but sadly not us & no-one told us!) Other than that the pool was lovely to cool down in the searing heat. Good wifi. Nice big TVs to the front & rear, so this enabled us to have a sport TV & a normal one! All the bedrooms have TVs too. No games room, which was a shame for us as we'd requested that. Golf course on site offered a reduced rate for 2nd round. ALDI in Haines city provided great value compared to Publix in Berry town centre. Handy for all the theme parks. Nice to relax & chill in after a busy day at the parks or shops, or just to do nothing.More
Still looking well
As a location to relax between the Parks Highlands Reserve is a great place to hire a villa. We stayed here a couple of times over 10 years ago and it is still the same. Good location about 40 min from international airport and 25 min from all the main parks. We booked our villa through our estate agent but you can privately book them as well. You need to register in with property management company when you get here to collect your keys. The villa we got did need a small bit of TLC but all in all it was fine. 4 bedroom was more than large enough for 8 people. Publics supermarket was only a few minutes drive away. A hire car is s must any you need to drive to everywhere. More
Great villa we stayed on Prestwick drive and had a large clean villa with 4 bedrooms. Well equipped with everything you need to self catering. Great outdoor pool with nice view of the golf course. Publix supermarket 2 minutes away by car. Restaurants not 2 far away either. About a 40 minutes drive to universal studios. There is a weekly charge for WiFi and the use of a BBQ. Definitely would stay here again.More
Villa Good, Virgin holiday's, not so good.
Having just returned home from 2 weeks in Florida staying at Highland Reserve I have some mixed feelings about my experience. First off I would like to point out the property was excellent, it was large, clean, modern and very well equipped. I found it a very comfortable property and had no issue with it, the same can not be said for Virgin holiday's! My first issue arose when I arrived. Having picked up our car from the airport we drove to the management company listed in our itinerary sent before we left home, however upon arrival the office was closed! We called the numbers provided by Virgin and those listed on the door of the management company and could not get a response. We drove to Highlands Reserve and spoke to a member of staff at the golf course who was very friendly but explained as there are several different tour operators and management companies with properties and it's not something he could help with. We returned to the management company's office and while my wife tried to comfort our exhausted 4 year old I began seek alternative accommodation. Luckily during this time a cleaner appeared at the office and after explaining to her what happened she kindly offered me a number not supplied on the paperwork and her mobile phone and I was able to make contact with a Virgin rep. To my shock they tried to put the blame on me saying I didn't follow the instructions given on my pre flight itinerary before giving me the necessary information. Two hours after this farce began we pulled up at our villa only to be confronted with 2 large bags of rubbish sitting proudly on the driveway. Once inside we found a welcome binder or as it should be called an extensive rule book! I give pages and pages of rules and if they were broken the ridiculous sums of money that would need to be paid in fines. The ironic thing for me was rule number one was to do with rubbish disposal and the fine imposed if it was not placed in a bin ready for collection by the bin man! The next day I turned up at the management office which shares the premises with Virgin. When I explained what happened the previous night the management company were only concerned with me signing paperwork and paying additional insurance costs and supplying credit card details. During this interaction a Virgin rep appeared and to my shock once again put the blame on me saying my pre flight itinerary explained I needed to contact the Virgin rep at the airport and collect my villa keys, address, etc. I explained this was not the case and assured her I had not been given this information, to which she called me a liar and stormed off. After completing the necessary paperwork I sought out the Virgin rep who was sitting in an office infront of a computer with my booking on the screen and no mention of my pre flight instructions. When she realised it was in fact Virgins fault and not mine or my inability to follow simple instructions a apology was offered and access to the Airport lounge on our return trip. From that point there were no further issues. However when I returned home my daughter pulled out the Virgin brochure to find the villa we had stayed in so she could show her cousin. It was at that point I realised it was supposed to come with a games room and guess what, it never! To sum up, the Villas and Highland Reserve are great, however be cautious if booking via Virgin Holiday's More

Our second trip to Highland Reserve ideal location if you are willing to drive to parks, plenty of restaurants and shops nearby for all your needs. House was clean and well kept with a welcome pack for our first breakfast only downside was no safe and additional charges for WiFi. Also an extra charge if you wanted to heat the pool which weren't advised of.More
