With a giant sphinx and two-storey-tall Pharaoh statues, the Luxor brings a taste of ancient Egypt to Vegas.
This pyramid-shaped hotel sits at the southern end of the strip, half-an-hour’s walk from the centre. There’s a free tram connecting it to Excalibur and Mandalay Bay. And after dark, you can use its iconic sky beam to guide you home.
Inside, you’ll see the designers really run with the theme. Rooms have hieroglyphics-adorned décor and Egyptian artwork on the walls. Walk around and you’ll find even more touches, like indoor palms and sculptures.

Good location for exploring the strip
This hotel was great for our few days. The room was really spacious. As with many of the Vegas hotels, I found the air-con a little much. The staff on the front desk were helpful when booking things and we also liked the self-check-in screens. The pool area is good but looking a little tired in places. We found the hotel to be in a really good location for us, spending our days wandering from that end of the strip to the other.More
Pyramid & Nile in Vegas
To click the complete picture of the Pyramid & Sphinx, we had to get across the road... Inside #Bodies: The Exhibition# is too good. Was scared to photograph... They look so real, the camera had to be sanitized (rather censored) before the kids & elders in the family could see 'Vegas' pictures. The nurture spa & salon have varieties of options to cajole & pamper you to the peak. In my last visit I had seen the 'Luxor Sky Beam'. This time, we missed it...More
Interesting hotel and design
If you plan to do a mobile-check in and pick up the tickets, make sure to be here before midnight!!! I thought we can skip the line and do the mobile check in but the kiosk was closed at 12am. We arrived here on a Friday night after 1am. Yes it's still packed at that hour and the regular line to check in took about 10 minutes. We got the Pyramid King Suite. Nothing special about it. Just a little bigger with a Jacuzzi (didn't use). Room smelled like cigarettes even though the room is non-smoking. I opened the adjacent doors and you won't believe what I found. A torn condom bag AND the used condom itself!!!!! GROSS!!!! Dirty carpets. Had no choice but to walk on it. Outdated wooden furniture. Old fashion. Bathroom only gives you shampoo/conditioner, soap, and body lotion. Not what I expect from a suite. Bed was comfortable. There's a hanging lamp that was very low (below 6 feet), so better watch your head and not get hit. Walls are a little thin and I heard kids next door in our room, from the CONDOM DOOR. Pool area was crowded but alright. Closes early at 7pm. Hotel did NOT come with breakfast. Luxor hotel has 2 starbucks downstairs (very close to each other, just a 1 minute walk between the 2). Both have a LONG LINE to wait in the morning and overpriced coffee. I like that there was a convenience store also near the Starbucks. You can grab a cold chicken salad sandwich for breakfast and any drinks there, as well as any stuff like from a 7-11. Overall, I would NOT stay here again.More
3 night stay
Nice hotel, after 30 mins waiting in line to check in, our room was in the east wing, a mission within itself. Room had a moist scent, even after cleaning, After 2nd day why bother to change. No refrigerator/microwave in room, a bit surprise about that. Not sure why charged a resort fee when you have to also pay for an umbrella at the pool. With 110 temp, expected pool to stay open a bit later, close at 7pm.More
Best Value for a Decent Hotel on the Strip
I was in Las Vegas for a conference and had booked a room at Caesar's Palace where the conference was taking place. My sister decided to go to Vegas also but had booked a room at the Luxor. I cancelled my room at Caesar's and booked one at the Luxor saving over $500 on a four night stay. The room is on the scale of a Radisson or Marriott, so decent. It was in the East Tower on the 9th floor. There was some wear and tear issues but nothing big. Throughout the entire stay, the carpet in the hallway was wet from a busted pipe or something and smelled like mildew. They had an industrial fan blowing on it constantly. It was a pain to walk through that every day. They walls are very thin, we had rowdy people next to us and were waken up by their shouting for two nights. The view was nice and the AC was excellent. The housekeeping service was top notch, it was very clean. Be sure to use the mobile check in service to avoid a very long wait in line to check in. I would recommend the Luxor because of the price but pray that you don't get any loud people next to you!More
