With a giant sphinx and two-storey-tall Pharaoh statues, the Luxor brings a taste of ancient Egypt to Vegas.
This pyramid-shaped hotel sits at the southern end of the strip, half-an-hour’s walk from the centre. There’s a free tram connecting it to Excalibur and Mandalay Bay. And after dark, you can use its iconic sky beam to guide you home.
Inside, you’ll see the designers really run with the theme. Rooms have hieroglyphics-adorned décor and Egyptian artwork on the walls. Walk around and you’ll find even more touches, like indoor palms and sculptures.

Hate this place
Horrible rooms that were dirty and old. I actually found a brown spot under the toilet paper roll on the wall! There are long hallways to get to the elevators and it was always a bit of a maze to get through. They allowed me to check into a dirty room, then moved me but did not offer to do anything to make the inconvenience better. When I asked, I was denied. More
Where are they hiding the entrees
This was my third trip to Las Vegas. I always heard everyone talking about the Buffets in Vegas, but I have never tried one period we chose the Luxor because it is a nice hotel with a really cool setting and was close by. It was Easter so they charged us 2799 for lunch. There were lots of sides but I had a hard time finding entrees. I ended up with a slice of ham that was mediocre at best. They did have fried chicken and a breakfast station that had bacon and sausage. What I saw with lots of sides I left hungry and disappointed. The food I did eat was okay comma but for 2799 I want a hell of a lot more than just okay and that's being generousMore
Just come back from a stay here, very impressed. Positives: - 5 star* service from all of the staff. -Very clean, so impressed with the housekeeping team (friendly and incredibly helpful!) -Great reception staff as well, really efficient and helpful. 24 hour service which was great. -Dry cleaning service was great, and only cost around 11 dollars. Was completed within 24 hours and perfectly too! - Had a really great room (non-smoking), top of the east tower, two great queen size beds and two large wardrobes. Beautiful bathroom with a great shower. Fantastic space and well laid out. Just to say, we had NO drink making facilities other than the two water glasses. Also, no mini fridge. This meant a lot of drinks to the starbucks downstairs! To help with costs, we did visit the whole foods store (12 dollars in a taxi) which was fantastic. We bought a lot here to last our trip, and most of it was organic. - Large hotel, good to meet such a variety of people. - Beautiful big pool, has a sweet pool side beach shop (clothing etc.) and a pool side bar. Great music by the pool everyday! A couple of things (why it was 4* and not 5* star to me) - Casino area could be updated and made more attractive. - Located at one end of the strip, not a bad thing generally because you are still surrounded by people (you do not feel 'out of it' at all) but it did mean we had to take taxis everyday (becomes costly) to go into the strip every night. Overall, would highly recommend this hotel to stay in - a very iconic hotel, with great presence on the strip and full of great people.More

Girlfriends 21st birthday
Absolutely stunning hotel, brilliant vibe, you would not need to leave the hotel if you didn't want too. So much to do rooms are huge shops are open 24/7 staff on site 100% of the time no issues what so ever. Buffet is great for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Got a free upgrade for it being my girlfriends 21st birthday!! Can not wait to visit here again.More
Amazing Hotel, Would highly recommend it
My boyfriend and I stayed in the Luxor Egyptian themed hotel for four nights and were very impressed. Positives Staff Staff were very kind and extremely helpful. They were always very polite and respectful and you genuinely felt they wanted you to enjoy your stay. Casino The casino was very clean and easy to find your way around. The dealers were very friendly and helpful. Rooms We stayed in a large room in the North East tower. There were two double beds in the room which were very comfortable. The room was very clean and the decor was nice. The air conditioning was fabulous and had loads of different settings so you could adjust it easily to meet your needs. The bathroom was large with loads of room at the sink to store your belongings. There was a big bath and a large shower. There was always warm water. Furthermore, we had a large screen Panasonic television in our room with lots of stations and the option of ordering movies. Lifts The lifts were large and felt very safe. The air conditioning in the lifts was great and the lifts were very quick. Food The food at the morning buffet was amazing. Could not fault it. Shows Chris Angel is amazing. I recommend you go see him. We booked the day before and got fabulous seats and a discount as were staying in the hotel. Decor The Decor was lovely and the Egyptian theme was evident throughout the hotel. There were lovely designs,, statues etc. WiFi The service was excellent. The signal was very strong. I could watch Netflix and load videos instantly. Negatives Check in We were in the line to check in for fifty mins. This was irritating as we had travelled a long way and were utterly exhausted at this point. There should be more staff employed to check people in. There is constantly a long line of people in reception waiting to be checked in. Expensive Shops The shops in the hotel are so expensive. The 24/7 shop is a rip off. Food Court The food in the food court is vile. The service is extremely bad and staff are so rude. The food tastes horrible. I felt sick after eating there. Avoid the food courts if u can. They are very overpriced also. Offers with a catch We were stopped by workers trying to promote a new hotel off the strip. They offered us discount tickets and loads of perks and then at the very end slipped in that we need to visit a hotel for like 3 hours and basically do a tour of it. We were only there for four days so did not have time to waste. Buy tickets from the box office as with the cheap offers there is always a catch and they only tell you at the end once you have spent fifteen minutes listening to them. We found that very irritating. Buffet Every morning you had to wait in line for approximately 40-50 mins to gain entry into the buffet. This was irritating as it wasted a lot of time in the morning. Overall, I enjoyed my stay there and would definitely stay in the Luxor again. I would highly recommend it. We visited a lot of hotels on the strip and they were all lovely but some of them did not feel like hotels, some felt like shopping centres. The Luxor feels like a hotel and that was nice. It is very hard to explain but if you experience it you will know what I mean.More
