This huge hotel combines revamped rooms and swish bars with family-friendly touches, like a giant aquarium and lazy river.
Big is the watchword at Mandalay Bay. It lines up an 11-acre pool complex, a 1.6-million-gallon aquarium and a 30,000-square-foot spa. If you ever want to leave, you’re a short tram ride away from the attractions along the strip.
Rooms are modern and chic, with statement walls, flat-screen TVs and cream décor. The spacious bathrooms are another bonus – they come with walk-in marble showers and big tubs.

Decided to give Mandalay a shot mainly due to the good things we have heard about the pools. ROOM: Stayed in a Bay King Suite, and the room itself was nice. Two sinks, bathtub, standard shower and bathroom. Lots of space for lounging and your belongings. Room was clean and available when we checked in around 11am. Only downside was the view was to the West overlooking the parking garage. However beyond the parking garage is where they are putting the new Raiders stadium, so in a few years there will be a bit more to look at. POOL: The pools lived up to the hype. We went to Moorea BEach Club (separate review) our first day and did not have to pay a cover as stated in many of Tripadvisor reviews. We were told women were free and so were guys if they are hotel guests. Very chill vibe at that pool, good service from the staff and decent food and drinks. Didn't dabble too much in the wave pool but the lazy river was nice. Obviously less kids and people in general earlier in the day, and during the week. Even on Saturday we were able to find chairs, so I don't know what other reviewers were seeing. CHECK IN/OUT: Check in took an hour because the group that was having a convention was checking in at the same time, so there were literally 100s of people in line, but I have to assume that is not normal. Check out was a breeze. Overall a nice stay, but even with the wide selection of bars and restaurants, the draw for us was the pool, so we would most likely only come back in the Summer months.More

Horrible start to honeymoon!
I had booked this hotel because I remember it being one of the top hotels in Vegas! Well, a lot has changed...I booked what appeared to be a nice king size non-smoking room. As soon as my husband and I entered the hallway to our room I immediately notice a urine smell!! When we entered our room there was an instant musty cigarette smell! I was already grossed out that we should of left then! We decided to walk around for a bit and when we returned I filled up the spa tube for a bath. Once I drained it, I headed gurgling and saw black water coming up from the shower drain!!!! We were completely disgusted and also too exhausted to change hotels at 1 am! We slept through the night and left immediately the next morning without even being able to shower! We headed to Caesars and the difference was astounding! Especially since Mandelay was only about 30.00 cheaper a night! Mandelay has gone downhill from how I remember it years ago. I will NEVER stay there again!!More
Top notch ***
We stayed at the resort during one of the hottest weekends in Vegas. Wonderful accommodation. Huge suite. Awesome beach/pool area. Very clean and airy casino. Would definitely recommend. We were in town for a convention. Managed to score tickets to the Hall & Oates concert at nearby T Mobile arena. Absolutely incredible!More
No top notch service
We waited for over 1h to check in and the two rooms we booked were 7 floors apart - not acceptable with little children. No attentive and personal service, this is not why I book a five star hotel. Never again !!!More
Friendly staff, stunning room, the best place I've stayed in Vegas!
I have spent a lot of time in Vegas, and the Mandalay Bay was absolutely the best place I have ever stayed. All the staff we encountered were all friendly and welcoming (THE happiest and kindest lifeguards I have ever seen) Our room was beautiful (soaking tub, separate shower, huge vanity) And of course not to mention the incredible beach, I could have stayed there all day! Express checkin through the website was a huge deal for us, our checkin experience was completely painless while there was a line a mile long at the desk. Highly recommended!! We were also super grateful to be able to spend time at the beach after we had checked out the afternoon of our departure. What a great service to guests. Our only complaint would be we encountered some trouble with exiting self-park at the end of our stay (our room key wouldn't scan.) We were grateful for the parking attendants who quickly helped us, but this could have been a pain if we were planning on entering and exiting the garage many times during our stay. I would absolutely come back to Mandalay Bay in a heartbeat. A+!More
