Great room and staff
We stayed at Delano four nights for a wedding. My wife had a comped (free) room and I rented a second room for our daughter. This was our fourth stay at Delano. We also stayed there several times when it was named âthe Hotel.â Both the staff in the VIP Lounge and the staff at the front desk were pleasant and very helpful. We like the rooms at Delano because they actually have a bedroom and a living area separated by a wall and a door. Probably the best feature of the suite is that there is a separate bathroom accessible from the living area. The full bathroom attached to the bedroom is very nice with a large tub and separate shower. Our only complaint about the room is that there is limited storage area for clothing. We never use room service, but our daughter used it twice and said that the service was quick and the food was hot and tasty. Although the Mandalay Bay / Delano complex has numerous places to eat, I have only found a few that I would return to. Dellaâs Kitchen in Delano is open only for breakfast and lunch. We like breakfast there, but donât care for the lunch options. We ate several times at Citizens, the 24 hour restaurant option. The food there is good, the service is quick, and the price is reasonable. On a previous trip, we ate at the Noodle Shop and found it to be good and reasonably priced. At my request, they prepared a dish for me that was not on their menu, with only a small price premium. We have tried both the buffet and the café a couple of times, and wonât be going back to either. On this trip, we tried Aureole and Border Grill. I found Aureole to be overpriced and had a limited menu, while Border Grill had a slightly more varied menu with more reasonable prices, but only two people from our group of twelve indicated that they thought the food was good. We will probably stay at Delano again, as we really like the suites and the staff. There are places to eat where the food is good and reasonably priced, so we will just avoid the overpriced restaurants.More
Upgraded myself to King suite Not worth it
I spent extra money to have a better stay than I had at Mandalay Bay the week before while in attendence of a conference only to find it not really worth it since there were so many gross uncleanly aspects to my room. Stains on carpet floor, peeling wall paper, rusted hard water stains on the shower head, and stains in the bathroom ceiling. Not happy feeling like it's not being cleaned properly. On the upside the Bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed my down time in the bathhouse spa More
Surprisingly nice stay
I admit I was a bit hesitant when my friends and I decided to stay at Delano (instead of the usual - Cosmopolitan), but we surprisingly enjoyed our stay. Stayed in a Delano Queen Suite and the room was spacious, modern, and clean. The hotel was quite accommodating and provided us connecting rooms. There is no casino at this hotel but it's connected to Mandalay Bay. The ambiance felt more quiet and laid back but if you want more noise and people, then its just a quick walk to Mandalay Bay. The hotel is not central but we rented a car this trip anyhow. Overall, enjoyed our stay here.More
Surface improvements, still needs A LOT of work
I was just in town for a conference and stayed at the Delano for convenience purposes. I had heard it was recently redone so was very excited! When I arrived my first impression was great lobby and very nice room. HOWEVER, there are some major downfalls and concessions you need to be willing to make while staying here: 1. INTERNET - Because the Delano is located so close to the convention center I can imagine they have a lot of guests there for business purposes. I think I got their internet to work for a total of 15 minutes the entire week. The WIFI was continuously off and wouldn't connect to my computer nor phone. I had to go over to the Mandalay side to be able to get work done.Very inconvenient for their business guests. 2. Water Quality - I travel a lot for business and without a doubt this hotel has the poorest water quality I've ever seen. Immediately after showering everything feels dry and rough. The water is either scalding or freezing, I had the shower on the coldest setting and almost got burned, and then when I turned it up it started to get freezing. The same for hand washing and teeth brushing. The shower head also had a lot of soap scum and was dirty. 3. NOISE - someone sneezes in the room next to you and you hear it. The elevator dings from down the hall, and you hear it. Someone takes a shower and you hear the water flowing through the pipes. For someone who was there for work and rising early/sleeping early, this was very inconvenient. Lastly, because of their "mobile check-in" I spent my entire stay without interacting with ONE employee from the hotel. I will likely look into other options for my future conferences. A good tip if you do stay here - have the green pastures juice from the cafe in the lobby!More
Feel like a Rock Star
Great quiet classy retreat yet lots of action moments away. Monorail/Tram shoots you to Tropicana Blvd into heat of action (NYNY, MGM ect) if that's what your heart desires or never leave the Delono resort grounds as it shares Mandalay Bay's casino area and its several pools including Mandalay Bay's - The Beach Pool which has a large sandy beach with waves or use the Delano's pool. One caveat, I had a scenic corner suite with strip view on the 28th floor and with its floor to ceiling tinted gold windows had the best most spectacular view looking right down the gut of the strip and If you get a room like mine BE PREPARED TO NOT WANT TO LEAVE YOUR ROOM. Mingling with other guests in elevators everyone loved staying there and one said it made them "feel like a rock star."More
