Loved the Delano!
We stayed here for my husband's work conference after spending one night (on our own dime) at the Bellagio. While we loved the Bellagio, we loved the Delano more than we expected! Service was top notch all around, from check-in to the concierge, to the housekeeping staff greeting us into the hallways. The rooms were gorgeous and huge...we liked having a suite as the standard room! The main bathroom would have been fantastic on its own, but the extra half bath was a cool bonus. Our room had a great view of the strip. As others have commented, the hallways, lobby, common areas of the Delano are artsy and beautiful. Although I love Vegas with all of its casinos and noise, there was something to be said for the tranquility of the surroundings here. That being said, it is literally down a hallway from the Mandalay Bay casino should you want that! We liked the shops connecting the casino with the Luxor, and the tram made it easier to get further up the strip. The Delano pool was nice, chilled out and sophisticated (loved the loungers in the water!) and nicely removed from the rest of the Mandalay Bay complex (which was awesome, if we brought our kids they would have LOVED it, we were just looking for a calmer experience, which the Delano delivered!). The only frustrating thing about the pool was it appeared all of the chairs were either taken or had reserved signs on them. By taken, I mean that half had a towel on them but no body on the chair (and a total of 4 people physically in the pool). The nice hostess offered us $25 reserved chairs, which we could not justify based on the fact the chairs were identical to the free ones! We watched the chairs for awhile and no one was returning to the abandoned ones. We went up to a group of women and asked if they had seen anyone using the chairs by them since they had been there, and they said no, there hadn't been anyone using them. We stayed in the chairs for the next several hours and no one returned to reclaim them! This is my only complaint though! Everything else exceeded our expectations! The location is not ideal if you have never been to the strip and plan to hike it several days in a row. The pool and several restaurants in the Delano/Mandalay Bay complex and shopping area make it feasible to want to stay right there for a couple of days! More
Great Place to Stay
We stayed here while in town for a business trip. The hotel is all-suite, is very comfortable, and nicely furnished. It is attached to, and part of, Mandalay Bay. The conference center is attached but it's a long walk from the Delano. There's an excellent pool with one area reserved for Delano guests. However, during our visit the attendance were not present at seeing anyone could walk into the Delano pool area. This made it difficult to find seats but we managed to do so. We would advise bringing your own water bottles. The water in the room cost eight dollars which we found to be excessive. Overall, this is a great hotel and we enjoyed our stay here every time.More
Holiday in Vegas
It was a great visit because for the first time I went in a helicopter through the Grand Canyon right in the bottom. For the first time I experienced swimming in a wave pool. These two were the main highlights, besides watching the Beatles Show called Love covering both my interests in music as well as the acrobats.More
Business and family
We stayed at the Delano with our children for 5 nights. The beach pool was amazing, especially the Delano area with the oversized chess in the water. If you are budget conscious bring some snacks and light meals with you. It costs 50/day to empty the minibar so since that's crazy you will only have access to a tiny area that holds about 4 500 ml bottles. Head for a cvs, Walgreens or even the gas station out front of the Mandalay. There is a McDonald's out that way as well which is a huge plus and I wish we found sooner. The bus was free for the kids and when you stay on the south end that help!More
This is one of my favorite hotels it's very trendy, peaceful, and quiet classy, Hotel it's definitely for the more he elite group, now they do have their own pool is in the same spot as mandolin Bay, It's in the middle just of their pools you have to bring your room key to get into it now they do have a snack bar, gift, shop, and full bar and all that good stuff down here, you can bring your own towel from home if you wish but did you have a nice free beach towels you can borrow bears and get as many as you need and refresh it as many times as you want so no problems there they have a lazy river you have the rent or buy your own raft less you already have one showers with hot water different types of pools reclining chairs a wave pool and regular standard Stillwater pools, it's quite the place you probably will not be disappointed it's cool to have a couple of different bars if you're not all that drinking see the kids won't be allowed in the designated areas where there is alcohol it only makes sense but you can bring it anywhere in the pool ground area signal problems remember no glass. Did you have a zero tolerance for mischievous and crazy behavior so you must control your kids at all times is not a playground it's a cool tranquil Place the kids can have their own little area over there in the wave pool but they still must remain at their best behavior because like I said it is a zero tolerance it's more for adults here but there's plenty for the kids to do the lazy river, in the wave pool they seem to enjoy the most, they do have great music playing in the background so it's definitely a great pool day here oh yes don't forget they do have Jacuzzis are hot tubs whatever people like to call them and one more reminder make sure you bring your room key down as she won't even get into the pool area at all and if you're going to use this different hotel pool like the Delano pool you have to bring your pool key or your room key for that pool also.
