The adults-only Hotel Riu Le Morne has a relaxed pool scene, lots of dining options, and a lively activities programme.
You'll find contemporary bedrooms and freshly painted public spaces in earthy shades typical of Mauritius.
The complex occupies a spot on the UNESCO-listed Le Morne peninsula, in the south-west of Mauritius. It’s fronted by a bone-white beach, and watched over by a towering, mountain-like rock that the area is named after.

This hotel has excellent staff through out with friendliness and help from the director through to waiters, maids , gardeners etc.The animation team work very hard and there standard is way above other hotels. It is unfair to name staff that are outstanding but Artee, Joshi and Sheetal and of course the hotels director are at the next level. The themed restaurants are also great and our favourite was the a la carte. Last day today of a great holiday.More

I'd like to start off by saying a massive thanks to the wonderful staff at Riu Le Morne who helped make our holiday as amazing as it was. Sheetal served our drinks most evenings in the restaurant, she was very friendly and attentive. Our room boy Sada also did a great job, our room was always spotless and we loved the towel animals left on our bed :) The food at the hotel was very tasty and there was a lot of variety. I would recommend trying the paella, and the fish and chicken served in the evening. Every other night there was a theme at the main buffet restaurant, they would hand you a drink when entering and a chef would stand at the front serving a special dish. We also tried the asian restaurant which was mostly chinese food, again in a buffet style. We enjoyed everything we tried in both restaurants and as a fussy eater that's quite an achievement! Importantly they seem to have mastered chocolate cake ;) Drinks at the hotel were also very nice. As far as i'm aware there was only one lager but we enjoyed it. I mostly drank cocktails which there were about 5 or 6 of, I tried most and enjoyed them all especially as they weren't too strong like a lot of resorts abroad. There was also a 'cocktail of the day'. The minibar in the room was refilled every other day with 4 beers, water, coke, sprite and fanta. The only negative thing I can say about Riu Le Morne is that personally I found the evening entertainment to be a little short lived and repetitive. During our stay there was live music every night but Sunday for a few hours. There also wasnt a lot to do in the day if it happened to be raining or too windy to use the water sports equipment. However I think this is because this hotel was adults only, at the sister hotel next door (Riu Creole) there seemed to be more day time activities and I more variation at night time. They had a 24hr bar for anyone who fancies it! All facilities at the Creole were available to Le Morne guests. Also.. please don't go to Mauritius if you just want to sit around the pool all day tanning yourself, such a wasted trip to a beautiful island when you could do that in any country with nicer weather than the UK! A short walk down the beach takes you to Brabant Mountain which is a relatively easy climb most of the way with incredible views! Id recommend going on a cooler day if possible. If you walk past brabant further along the coast and cut down on to the beach you will eventually reach a stunning bay with nobody around but the odd fisherman with a net. The views of brabant, the valley and the ocean are jaw dropping from there! It doesn't seem like an advertised place but it's definitely worth a walk down. More
We all enjoyed everything about this place especially the staff who are universally friendly and worked very hard to ensure our stay was the best it could be, it's very hard to single out one person but Jean Noel in the main buffet restaurant is a true (but unofficial) entertainer. Location is a bit out of the way but the all inclusive nature of the hotel and the wide selection of food and drink available more than makes up for it. The hotel beach is a bit windy generally but the main pool is sheltered and a real sun trap with adjacent bar and buffet, it wasn't busy during our stay so a very pleasant place to laze away the day. It's well worth getting out to see the rest of Mauritius, with our party of 4 we found the most economic way was to hire a taxi or guide/driver for the day, this also feels exclusive with a private tour set to your own timetable and itinerary. We saw most of the island using 4 different days and can particularly recommend a visit to Ile aux Aigrettes and Casela Park - walk with the lions if you can, the memory will last a lifetime. It will pay to book ahead for both these visits. We found the Marco Polo guide book gave the best information on all there is to see. This was our first visit to Mauritius but will not be our last.More
Excellent friendly staff
We were very pleased by friendly and helpful staff at Hotel Riu Le Morne. We especially liked gentle attitude of waitress Miss Jornah. Always smiling and ready to serve us. It's always very pleasant time to talk to her. She was also very helpful and informative by answering any questions we had about local food traditions and attractions of Mauritius. Thank you.More

Just returned from this hotel - although I had read and re-read the reviews before arriving I can confirm it was one of the best holidays. The hotel is lovely and quiet, but if you prefer a bit of action then you can visit the Riu Creole next door which has entertainment every night. We also had entertainment and some were excellent each evening but on a lower key. The only factor that ended at 9.45 which I thought was a bit early. Food was excellent - the main buffet restaurant had a good range of hot and cold food to choose from. The staff were impeccable, very friendly and helpful especially Sivatrri and her sister - excellent hospitality. The pool restaurant was good, but you had the choice of the main buffet restaurant as well. Special thanks to Yash - he always came up trumps. Rooms were spotless and clean, couldn't fault it. The rest of the staff always had a cheery face and were very approachable. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who really wants a quiet holiday and we definitely would return. You would definitely need swimming shoes for the beach and sea, but everything was lovely for a wonderful restful holiday. LizMore
