Just returned from another fab holiday at Silver sands, Accomodation was a standard room on 2nd floor overlooking the pool, rooms are basic but clean and comfortable
The staff are absolutely amazing! very friendly will do anything to help you, by the end of the holiday they have become friends, Anil, Ajay and the rest of the gang, missing you already!!. 2 restaurants on site Chicago, which is multi-cuisine and Sheetal which is Indian ate in both, 3 times in Chicago a special mention to the chef Anod, the food was delicious, if you really want to push the boat out, try the lobster, its a fraction of what the cost would be in England and well worth it.
The hotel bar is very popular, has a nice outside terrace, good start and end point for an evening.
Location is perfect, a few minutes walk to the numerous bars and restaurants, and the same to the beach.
loads of beach shacks to choose from, Sunbeds drinks and food throughout the day, comes to about 1000 rupees, we spent a lot of time at the Horizon Cafe, staff were very friendly, food was delicious
There are many places to eat and drink, and can honestly say I have never had a bad meal, didnt always get what i expected, but that is part of the fun!!
To anyone who is thinking of visiting Goa for the first time, this a perfect place to start, keep an open mind, and dont form any opinions until you have been there a few days, Enjoy!!More
Nice hotel but there are cheaper options available
I visited the Candolim for the first time, my earlier visit was to Palolem. So my expectation to match my great stay at Palolem i.e. Hotel located along the beach and provides sunbeds there.
I got confused from pictures posted and thought it was along the beach but in fact its at a distance of about 5 min walk, which was a bit disappointing. I had to pack my bag everyday and go to beach and rent a sunbed....
Hotel rooms are good...they are spacious....have television... hot water and balcony. Hotel staff is also nice.
I was lucky to get a good deal during peak season in January at about 2k per night but anything higher, i would not recommend this place.
Location otherwise is fine...its about 70-80 min. from airport [prepaid taxi takes Rs. 950]...taxi stand is just along the hotel and you can get a taxi almost anytime [not sure of night]...there is big and happening market alongside the road with lots of restaurants.
Do not miss live bands which play in various restaurants during night...its amazing!!
Candolim beach is nice as such but can't match Palolem [but then palolem has quiet night life]
Overall a nice stay but below my expectations...More
Very basic amenities
Very minimum facility; no fridge in cottage, single supply of towels, shower water flow low, no electric kettle or hair dryer.
Overall clean, although strong smell from septic tank.
Wifi only in the lobby.
May not be suitable for N. American expectation- 2-star motel like.
Good location, and layout.More

5th Visit and still enjoying it!
The fact that this was our 5th visit must say it all. Great hotel, fabulous location. Yes there could be improvements and we have on occasion thought about stopping at a different hotel just to have a change but every time we talk ourselves out of it as the other hotels are never in the right location and are more expensive too. Bottom line this is a 2 star hotel in a fantastic location with beach, bars, restaurants, supermarket, chemist, shops, right on your doorstep. The staff are absolutely brilliant and will go that extra mile to help you and will always greet you with a smile.
Some rooms are better than others like in any hotel and if you are lucky enough to get a good one, good on you. Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels. I heard some guests pass comment about the state of the towels but to be honest I don't know how the laundry managed to get them clean. No matter how much I scrubbed my feet in the shower I always managed to wipe off more of the red dust in the towel than I scrubbed off in the shower! So I take my hat off to the laundry. Our air con packed up but within minutes of reporting it, the problem was being looked at. This year they were putting new sun beds around the pool and new switches/plugs were being installed in the rooms. Other reviewers have mentioned that the wardrobe doesn't lend itself to long dresses and that's true so I usually fold mine over a hanger. We also had two mirrors this year, one above the dressing table (with a plug) and another long mirror on the wall. In previous years there has just been the one on the wardrobe door, which is hard going if you are short sighted and drying your hair at the opposite end of the room as that's the nearest plug!. So improvements are being made.
Didn't bother with the breakfast this year so can't comment on that. The hotel has two restaurants on site and the food is great but so is the food in the beach shacks and restaurants around Candolim and the prices don't vary that much. It has a small outdoor seating area if you fancy a drink before/after your meal. Taxi rank is just across the road and they are very reliable.
Goa isn't for everyone and there were some guests who were unhappy but please remember this is not Europe it's Goa, India. If you have a sense of adventure and an open mind and not too high an expectation then you might be pleasantly surprised and will enjoy Goa with all its magic and uniqueness.More
