I booked the hotel from Oyo it is marked as Oyo premium . however the room was very ordinary , bathroom was poor. Free WiFi is limited only to reception. Complementary breakfast has limited option and food is average types. No dedicated parking available Only advantage is proximity to the beach as it is just two minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is recommended only if u get a deal of less 2k inr per nights... This place does not deserved more than it...More
Not an Oasis
Spent a week here and was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews.
It was our first time to Goa and if you can look past the poverty you will have a great holiday.
Five star service in a three star resort.
Our room was clean, no fridge unless you can upgrade, no tea making facilities. Bathroom reasonably clean, had a shower though quite frankly the water pressure was weak, only cold water in the sink, you do get two bath towels but no hand towels. Air-con was fine.
Had a meal at the hotel the first night which was very nice but breakfast is eggs. (the Indian guests were offered much better fayre so we had what they were eating)
found a hotel round the corner (the moonlight) which served a very tasty full English!
Didn't use the hotel pool as most of the dozen sun loungers were broken and I had seen a picture on Trip Ad of a dog having a drink of the pool! (not much chlorine in there then!)
Beach is less than five minutes walk away and there are plenty of sun loungers there.
I don't need to recommend any restaurants as they all served fabulous food.
I will say take a cab, ( £2 each way) to Chef Soumyens restaurant. Superb European dishes. We had a bottle of Italian wine, crab starters fillet steak, sea bass, desserts, less than £50.
A nice touch is the chef/owner comes to every table to welcome his diners.
I must say the guys at Silver Sands could not do enough for us. Thank you Tom and Thakur.
We can't wait to go back to Candolim however we shall try to find a better hotel.
By the way, duty free is virtually non existent at the airport so try the Elephant shop, top of the road turn right. More
just got back nov 19. this place needs a good refurb . on arrival, the room they gave us was disgraceful, tiles missing around toilet and dirty, they showed us 3 rooms before we finally gave in and that was only after we made them change the stained bedding. every room has a heavy sickening smell of mothballs, and they are dreary and depressing,.breakfast was in a tin shed and was a shambles, not clean and hygienic ,insects anda mess everywhere. I complained to the thomsons rep a few times, and found in the end he was dodging me,shame on thomsons. I will say that the staff there was fantastic especially tom and adjay all the waiters were great,we liked candolim ,and will go back but NEVER to silver sands holiday village it is the worst hotel ive stayed in40 years of travelling.no doubt the hotel will write something in response to this review,I have taken a lot of photos and will post them as I think people should see what thomsons are taking your money for.nothing like the brochure and nothing like the Thomson rep in Cardiff bulled it up to be. especially as he told when booking that he had been there several times,More

Wonderful setting and staff
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, after "walking in off the street" asking for a room for 6 nights, as a matter of urgency. We had escaped another hotel which was dreadful. All efforts were made to find us a room, which turned out to be clean, comfortable and with a view of the garden.
Highly efficient staff, friendly and helpful, always had time for us, both at reception and at breakfast. Our stay was more than happy, the pool was clean and fresh, so were the bedding and the bathroom.
The setting of this hotel is ideal, 400 mtrs from the beach, just off the main road through Candolim, in extremely well kept gardens.More

Good Budget Place
We recently booked this via OYO Rooms and surprisingly it turned our a good deal. The rooms are basic and clean to begin with. Room service was quick , but they did not have a great selection due to off season. The place is extremely close to the beach and what would one ask for.
Restaurant is ok and you could order in if you do not want to step out.
Breakfast was the minus point as they have nothing more than either Eggs / Omellete and paratha or puri. I hated the bfast. No fruits , no juice etc.
Cottages are bit more spacious than rooms.
Staff is friendly .
NO Hotel parking at all. There is a ground opposite the entrance but it is common so you have to be lucky to get a slot. Also , there are many trees and my car was covered with Crow poop next morning !! Someone also nicked my car !! Thats what u wud expect in a public parking space !!More
