Silver Sands Holiday Village

This hotel gives you a big choice of restaurants and a location right by Candolim’s golden-sand beach.

This hotel’s in a prime spot, just a two-minute walk from Candolim’s golden-sand beach. It’s much the same distance to the bars, restaurants and beach shacks along Beach Road.

There's a good-sized rectangular pool here. Dining’s a big deal here, too, with three restaurants including a great Indian à la carte and a place that serves up dishes from around the world.

Silver Sands Holiday Village

We stayed at SSHV for three weeks from mid March. This was our third visit to Candolim, and our third stay at SS's. The main appeal is its location, it is just brilliant! Five minutes from the beach, and a minute to Beach Road, and the shops and restaurants. We again stayed in a bungalow, as we like their location. The bungalow is basic, with limited clothes storage, but the rooms are clean and we leave the clothes that are less likely to crease in our cases. The rooms have air con, are cleaned daily and towels and bedding are changed regularly. A fridge is available at extra cost. The staff are really friendly, and a lot return year after year, as do the guests! The complex is small and you generally get to know most other guests. There is a small and adequate pool. Breakfast is tea, coffee, juice and toast, with eggs and omelettes etc available for a small cost. We generally just had tea and juice and would have brunch or lunch at one of the beach shacks. We did note that by arriving later in March and coming home in early April that there were more Indian guests, as their main holiday period begins in April. As other guests have commented they were sometimes a little noisy late at night/early in the morning, and in the pool area. I did notice that management needed to put up the "pool closed" sign around 7pm otherwise some would stay in the pool until 8pm or 9pm. I noted a previous reviewers comment about breakfast being served in the Sheetal for Indian guests, and this was true. We were rather unimpressed that on our last day there was no juice, as the juice dispensers had been moved into the Sheetal. We were provided with juice when we asked, but I did feel that putting one dispenser in each area would have been a more reasonable compromise. The above wasn't an issue to us as we only had it for a few days. I could however see it becoming an annoyance if it was constant. In my opinion it is fair and reasonable for guests to be treated equally. We did different trips this year, and relaxed and again had a brilliant time. I would stay at SS again as it is such a great base. I probably wouldn't tend to go so late in the season. WiFi is available in reception.More

Siddharth T,

Last day of our stay in Goa- Mar-2015

We stayed in this property for one night, location of the property is perfect as the Candolim beach is just 200 meters and from their breakfast area you can see the beach. Though the food was not great and rooms also average. They have a very small swimming pool which tends to get overcrowded if number of people staying at property increases.More
