Silver Sands Holiday Village

This hotel gives you a big choice of restaurants and a location right by Candolim’s golden-sand beach.

This hotel’s in a prime spot, just a two-minute walk from Candolim’s golden-sand beach. It’s much the same distance to the bars, restaurants and beach shacks along Beach Road.

There's a good-sized rectangular pool here. Dining’s a big deal here, too, with four restaurants including a great Indian à la carte and a place that serves up dishes from around the world.

Perfect location

We arrived in Goa on the 1st February after a 10 hour flight from Gatwick. After a 1.5 hour transfer we arrived at the hotel. I had stayed previously at the sister hotel Silver Sands Hideaway but knew this was a lesser star rating hotel. We were given a ground floor room which was basic but clean. Throughout our stay our room was tidied daily and clean towels were left. One critisism was the toilet roll, we had to ask several times for toilet rolls which took a day or so to get. There are no fridges in the room but they can be hired for a small payment, the same is said for the safe. These were situated in the reception area and could be hired for a small charge. Although we had booked bed & breakfast we prefered to eat down in the shack but ate there on the last day. This comprised of tea, juice, toast with jam. If you wanted anything else such as egg you had to pay for them. The hotel is clean and staff are very friendly. My only critism (other than the toilet rolls) would be the locking systems on the room doors. This comprised of a bolt mechanism with a padlock. The padlocks looked locked till you tugged on them then they would come undone, this system needs upgrading and proper key locks installed. WIFI is available free of charge but can only get it if you are in the reception. The locatiion of this hotel is ideal. It is literally on the beach and is at the bottom of one of the main roads for restaurants and bars. I would fully reccommend this hotel, not because its fancy or 5 star but for the location and friendliness of staff. We have already booked this hotel for next year.More

Silver sands holiday village

We stayed here February 4th to feb19th 2015 it's a good hotel staff very friendly especially ajay the bar waiter nothing was to much trouble for him . The rooms are basic but clean one thing missing is a kettle , me and my husband like a cuppa first thing in a morning and a coffee on the balcony when we come off beach . It wasn't a problem we went to the dreaded newtons shop and bought one .the hotel is ideally situated 5 minutes from the beach and close to all the restaurants.i would stay in this hotel againMore

Friendly staff but dated accommodation

We were visiting Goa for a friends wedding and chose to stay here as a couple of friends attending were staying here through Thomson holidays. We looked at at the hotel which showed nice rooms, colourful cottage accommodation and 2 distinctively different swimming pools. (One was round!) We arrived early for our stay and as throughout our trip the staff were helpful and polite in accommodating us. Unfortunately we didn't find the accommodation to be up to the standards expected from the images and information described online. Our rooms (we moved due to ac not working properly during first few days) contained damp in both the shower and bedroom which made us feel slightly unwell whilst staying. There is only one pool in the premises which is the small square one you will see online. In conclusion, you wouldn't stay here for the accommodation as the wonderful beach is so close. There are plenty bars around the area. But after speaking to many others if I went back I would choose to stay in other areas of Goa which have better an cheaper accommodation. Transporting around the area isn't a problem so wouldn't be put off being slightly out of the main tourist area. Again the staff were very polite and helpful whenever we spoke to them but were left feeling slightly disappointed.More

Damon M,

Better late than never

We stayed here in December 2014 and although basic it was clean and the staff were wonderful. It is in one of the best locations for the beach and the Restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will return soon.More

Friendly beach hotel

Just had three weeks at Silver Sands staff are very friendly and always have a smile for you what ever time of the day. We stayed in a double room and it is basic but clean, had A/C and a fridge with balcony and pool view. Beach was a couple of mins walk away and taxi s were just along from the hotel. The hotel is just off beach and is very near to numerous restaurants and shops. Will definitely go back with out a doubt. THANKYOUMore
