The Liberty Hotels Asena Beach has a location that's worth writing home about. The beach and town centre are a few minutes' walk away, and the Blue Lagoon's in easy reach, too. You've also got an impressive pool scene and a pair of restaurants.
The Asena Beach offers a hat-trick of plus points. Firstly, it’s only a five-minute walk from the main beach and the bars and restaurants in the centre of Olu Deniz. Plus, it’s just a few minutes more to Turkey’s famous Blue Lagoon.
Secondly, the hotel’s swimming scene is top-class. There are 2 main pools – the first is huge and offers views over Turkey’s mountainside scenery with your swim. The second is an adults-only option that has its own bar, plus there's a special pool for little ones, so you won’t be disturbed when they’re splashing about.
Finally, in the evenings, you can take your pick from the Garden Restaurant, where you can eat in the open-air, or Captain Hook’s à la carte, which specialises in locally-caught seafood. The hotel puts on regular entertainment, too, with belly dancers, snake charmers and fire-eaters appearing on the line-up.
After really looking forward to staying in this hotel after staying for the past 3 years we were very disappointed!! . After reading reviews I was very anxious before arriving about complaints about the noisy rooms!! Sure enough, (despite three emails and two faxes requesting superior quiet rooms - none of which were acknowledged) when we arrived late at night my heart fell when I saw that my parents were being taken to the superior rooms at the noisy side of the hotel!!!.. As we entered the room the noise from Shadows Bar was horrendous. The room was vibrating!!!!! My mum spent the night sitting out on the comfortable chairs in the foyer!! My husband and I were taken to a room which was like a dungeon... room comfortably furnished but with a tiny window and no balcony!!! We immediately asked to be moved to the rooms which we know are lovely and which we requested beforehand, but found the reception staff to be very rude, offhand and totally unhelpful. (I imagine this is because of all the complaints that they have had regarding the noisy rooms) We were told no rooms were available to change to until I pointed out a room that I had seen being emptied and very politely asked for that one. The staff denied all knowledge of this room and said no until I DEMANDED that I wanted this room and it was then given to us very reluctantly with a lot of chatting going on amongst the reception staff - extremely rude!!! (I want to add that I was extremely polite all throughout my conversation with the reception staff and I do understand that someone has to have these rooms but they should consider the age of the guests whom they put into these noisy rooms!!! I have never heard so many complaints at the reception desk regarding rooms = or the lack of rooms because of overbooking
Once our rooms were sorted everything was much better, and all other staff were very helpful and friendly so we could all start to enjoy our holiday.
The restaurant staff and quality of the food are both excellent and the cleanliness is second to none! We didn't have any trouble in getting sunbeds on any day although many were reserved with towels.
The reception staff desperately need some serious staff training regarding customer service and I understand there has been some management changes since last year. All in all I was very disappointed as I had so looked forward to returning to this lovely hotel which has been let down very badly by some members of their staff.
Not sure if I would return to this hotel again due to these issues...... a much looked forward to holiday has now been spoilt for our future consideration as a return hotelMore

Lovely hotel pity about the bathroom
This was our second time staying in hotel but fourth in Olu Deniz resort. The standard rooms were a bit small but clean. The shower cubicle we had was very small, not suitable for larger people. The free WiFi was non-existent very poor for a large hotel. We were half board and the food was alright but could have been better. The pool bar staff were friendly and polite. I think it's about time the hotel looked at decorating the standard rooms a bit tired looking.More
Love this place
We came back to turkey having a great time last year but unfortunately we didn't stay here we stayed at the marcan beech across the road, we went back to have a drink and all the staff from last year remembered us and was as friendly and helpful as they were last year even though we didn't stay here when we go back to turkey next year we will 100% staying here again
Great staff, great entertainment and great serviceMore
Will not be returning!!!!!
We arrived early hours of a Tuesday morning on the 9th September staying for ten days. Straight away were we told the hotel manager had given us the wrong room which was a superior family room and we would have to be moved 12 midday. So we were took to the family room and told not to unpack. When getting to the room we were 'helped' by one of the bell boys who was a stocky built man! who explained the air conditioning in the room to us which was helpful until when he finished stood there arms folded waiting for a tip!!! Which I think is extremely rude after just getting into the hotel after a long transfer and being tired. I don't mind tipping but not when they are so blatantly rude about it!!!
The morning when we woke, we went down for breakfast before our meeting with the rep, so after little sleep still being tired we were handed a glass of fresh orange juice which was lovely until we had to pay!! Which they did not mention until we had drank it!! I've never before stayed half board at a hotel and had to pay for the juice! There is two juices 'free' one is a drinkable sweet peach juice or a horrid more like syrup cherry juice!
At our reps meeting we told him we had to move rooms but surprise surprise the receptionist hadn't noted our move so our rep sorted it and we were moved over to room 012, which needs big updates very dated but clean which is the main thing! However if you like to go to sleep before 12.30am you can't because the noise from the strip echoes through the room! When I say 12.30am that's if your lucky it's turned down when sometimes it's into early hours.
Our first evening meal we were seated by the friendly staff showing us the wine list etc, but as our time went on we waited almost 15 minutes before someone took our drinks order and found a handful of the restaurant staff extremely rude!
On a good note the chefs who serve food are brilliant so friendly always up for a laugh. And the food is fantastic!! Great choice and tastes beautiful!
There are two pools a silence pool which is very peaceful if you can get a sun bed! Still the same old issue of signs up saying please do not reserve the sun beds but no staff doing anything about the issue. On our last day we did mange to get two beds around the silence pool and I watched a couple arrive at the pool at 12.30pm and went straight to their sun beds which they had reserved, I think this is absolutely disgusting reserving beds not coming to the pool till the afternoon!
The other pool is more larger with more sun beds where they play pool games etc.
I will not be returning to this hotel!More
Honest opinion....ex travel agent and holiday rep
On an quick overview this hotel looks great and I would of felt confident selling this hotel as a travel agent ... BEFORE I HAD EXPERIENCED IT FIRST HAND!
On a late arrival of 3 am, our room was not ready for us!! So we were told we could stay in one of their superior rooms until midday when we could move. Well can't say this impressed me. Clearly the reservations manager had over booked our room so we had to wait til we could properly settle into our room and holiday. Honestly glad I didn't pay to stay in a superior room, the one we had was so small, and had no balcony or window. I've stayed on a cruise ship and experienced less cabin fever!!
Once we were shown our room ( and paid yet another tip to the bell boy!!!) We were disappointed on the room....location great it over looked the pool. But beware because if you're needing an early night like us on a couple of occasions you can hear the pool bar and most the strip partying away. Though all outside music must be turned off at 12!! Our room was again small, only 1 pillow each. A shortage of towels quite often after the maid had been in. Our shower flooded after each time we used it. One of the shower panels did not even fit in frame.
The pool bar staff spent most of our holiday concerning themselves with whichever young single girls were around the pool at the time. It got pretty embarrassing to watch. As an experienced rep of 4 years this behavior was most suited to the party resorts I have worked in the past. The pool bar is over inflated with it pricing I felt. In resort you would get far superior service and quality of food for less and the same.
Breakfast was ok, they did have a good good of options. I did get annoyed at them coming over to the tables all the time trying to sell us fresh orange juice every morning.
My advice would be that if cheap and cheerful is what you want they go for it, but if your wanting and little bit more for your money look else where.
This was our second time in Olu Deniz and plan to get married over here. My feedback to the hotel chain would be to train you hotel staff to recognize that all your guests have different needs and not all there at behave like they are on a clubbing holiday.
Also on a note to us UK guests....how embarrassing that we still race out to put out towels out at 7 in the morning!!!! More
